  1. I SEE THIS ONE! super lovely car and I really like it visually is perfect!... But I checked the Mot history and it's like a lottery.. it's failed nearly every mot it's ever had... And the brake line corrosion and exhaust gases failure worries me that I'm going to spending a lot of money very quickly... Dealer reviews arnt great either :-( maybe if I took a competent mechanic with me?

  2. Thanks a lot gents. Really appreciate all the advice. The running costs i.e petrol won't be an issue it's just the purchase price. I can save and have a better budget no probs its just i had the 2.5k and am bit eager for a Lexus lol it's a case of wanting one now lol. I think il just hold out keep adding to the budget and if one pops up in my price range and condition great. U guys are awesome

  3. WOW shahpor thank you so much. I was like LITERALLY going to go view this car today and pull the trigger if it was ok. You've saved me a couple of grand mate lifesaver! So he SE has normal lights and centre console and the SE - L has xenon's and wood console? Also how did you check the not history and know it would need work soon? I don't know much about these cars so bit unsure what to look for

  5. Hi Guys. After posting a question on wether to buy the IS 220d or the IS 250 and receiving some fantastic and extremely well informed replies from the good people here on this forum. I have made the choice to go for the IS 250.

I have now sold my previous car and am looking for an IS 250 for sale. I have a budget of £2500 ( not the biggest I know ) but it's what I've got. Looking for ideally black but open to different colours 2007. If anyone has one for sale or can point me in the right direction that would be amazing.

    Thanks in advance

  6. Guys thank you all SO MUCH for your advise. It's really put my mind at ease now about the 250 i have obviously been reading some utter crap! Online about these cars. Really appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Decision made now am going to get the 250... Just going to have a good hunt around now for a good one In my budget.

Last thing and I promise I'll leave you all alone lol the cars in my £2000-£2500 budget all have around 110-140,000 miles on the clock. Is that a lot of miles for a car like this? They are on as I said 2006-2007 plate. Anything I should be aware of?

    Thanks

  7. Hi bluenose1940

Thank you very much for your reply. I think your right! On he forums with real owners I'm getting the 250 wins all day... But on sites and reading up the diesel is shown as better... But to me you can get any better than people who have actually owned them. Top man thank you... Just quickly what was the 250 like on fuel?

  8. NoHi Guys and Gals. Been directed here from another forum happy to be here :-)

I am about to purchase my 1st ever Lexus :-) yay me :-) but am stuck on the petrol 250 or the diesel 220d. Both are 2006-2007 with around 100-140,000 miles on the clock.

I am coming from a Vauxhall Astra ( I know I know ) so not really bothered about power comparisons as they are both going to feel like rockets... I do like 90% town shorter journeys and the odd a road / motorway every now and then. Someone suggested the diesel may not be a good option and the petrol a much better one as it's not far off the mpg of the diesel. Is this true? What are the fuel figures i.e how much to fill the tank on a 250 and how many miles from a full tank.

All help and answers hugely appreciated.
