  1. Hi - I've not been on for a while - sorry to everyone who posted as I didn't get round to replying. Let me know if you still need the parts you were after.

I've got a wooden steering wheel and Satnav unit currently on eBay.

I've still got most of the parts as I stopped actively trying to sell them when the lockdown started! Hope you're all well.

Can you send me some photos of the exhaust please? Cheers.

You can see them top left of the pic - the main pipes are stainless and polish up nicely. The rest of the sections are mild steel and incorporate steps to increase bore. Includes custom made brackets to fit to the standard mounting points for the backboxes using the standard exhaust rubbers.

Don't need the wheels as I have a nice set of Bola's on it already.

Thanks for the pics and vids, does sound good. I need to check if it will fit or not. I'm sure Steve who's commented will know. Steve? emoji6.pngemoji4.png

    What's the asking price too?

    Thanks.

    Alex.

Couldn't edit my original post so I've quoted a random one and added prices roughly based on completed listing on eBay

Very sad conclusion to my Lexus ownership. Long story short - cam pulley sheared off and the engine is dead. I've spent the day stripping parts off it and will be scrapping the shell in the next few weeks.

    All on the Wirral.

    What year was it?

Sorry for your loss! How did that come about so it can be avoided for others?

    1998 with 130k.

I'm not sure why it happened but the cambelt was removed twice due to a faulty new waterpump so it could be just the fact it came off and on a bit and was unsettled from its 22 year slumber. 'If it ain't broke ' is my new mantra.

I have a '93 and could be interested in the exhaust/spacers if suitable fitment.

I'm hoping to sell them with the wheels as they are perfect for the SC430 wheels - if I sell the wheels separately, though, I'll let the spacers go too. Are you interested in the wheels, too?

The exhaust is a custom back box delete setup that sounds great. You just need to cut your back boxes off and clamp these to the pipe. I made it a non-welding modification due to lack of a mig. You need to cut two cutouts in the bumper - I'll upload some pics. Can't help with fitment - I'd presume they're the same?

This one 'seems' good, no advisories at all at any time in its MOT history, seems to have only been doing below 2k miles pa. They are scattered all over UK so train fares need to be taken into account or end with spending a lot of money, this one is in Broxbourne Herts only appx 20 miles from me, but your in Mersyside, whats you max spend? fares could work out a lot if seeing more than 1 or 2

Thanks mate - I'm afraid I don't have anywhere near that kind of budget. Hence not being able to repair it at the moment. I'm going to try and do it over time to keep costs down and get a run around in the meantime.

yes for certain, a Ls400 V8 is a wolf in sheeps clothing, ready to pounce at a nano-seconds notice into a wimperingly quiet lion with the force of a titan

Unless you remove the backboxes in which case it pounces at a nano-second into a suitably roaring lion. And so on.

I think some of the slipper and pipe brigade on here should be buying themselves electric cars. They're very quiet in case you weren't aware. You can leave the v8s to those that appreciate them then. 😂👍

There was a post on here sometime back regarding the failure of the cam control on a 98 mark 4 it related to the rebuild of the pulley and bolts coming loose this resulted in much the same ending yours had.

The prognosis was the bolts holding the mechanism together had not been fastened up to the correct torque and when taken to high revs the unit failed.

As your engine had any work done on it apart from cambelt change?

Not in my ownership - but there was an intermittent rev issue when I bought it which cleared up after an oil change and few miles of driving. I had the cambelt off twice as the first waterpump was faulty but that's only thing that's been done.
