  1. Firstly a big thanks to Parthiban, Skraggy_uk, eddieblock and all those who have gone before. At last after many, many months of p*** poor performance and support from the GROM people I'll grudgingly admit that update V31 is stable on my IS300 / 13906 ERR3 player. As for the handsfree bluetooth well that works with no problems with my Sony Ericsson C902 and SOT-913 Autoleads harness adaptor. Sorry no photos but I'd like to leave a few notes if anyone else goes down this path which I consider quite a cheap solution and also preserves the original look. 1) I found no use the CK3000 "mute" ISO connector - just cut the wires and throw away. The yellow mute lead can connect directly to the mute connector in the SOT-913 harness. 2) I also butchered the CK3000 "power" ISO connector so that just three pins were used: Vbat, Vacc and GND. I connected the flying blue Vacc to the red of SOT-913 / Lexus loom. Red and Orange going to the Parrot needed to be reversed. 3) The blue box of the SOT-913 harness is a relay module that is supplied with Vacc and GND and handles signals for the right rear and right woofer. 4) All speakers are muted/switched during a call. 5) I put a normally closed pushbutton in line with the Grom 12v supply (red wire, pin 1 on CD2 connector) just in case I need to reset the Grom. 6) Using the Grom Aux-in is still a possibility with maybe digital radio feed It's early days yet but I think everything's ok ... now if only I could work out a way to mute the Grom ..... Cheers Rob
  2. Hi folks For some time I've persevered with err3 problems but now the cd changer has completely jammed with frequent whirring noises. I think it's time for a change. Could someone please point me towards a walk-through for upgrading to an after-market replacement? And possibly give opinions on.... 1) single din vs double din 2) a good-looking double din unit - is in-car dvd really useful? ..and I think I'd prefer to have a non-permanent sat-nav system 3) can the replacement unit function as blue-toothed car phone system 4) Are there any pit-falls in using the existing speakers? 5) What is the significance of 'S' model and top / bottom loading regarding this situation? Thanks Rob :)
  3. Hi Folks I'm thinking of buying an IS300. Maybe 12 months old. Never had a Lexus. Any good? Are there any common problems I should look for or should I just look at the JD Power surveys ;) . Also would anyone care to recommend on dealers / private sales / auctions / warranties etc etc. Sorry to be so vague. Regards Rob rjh@vici.demon.co.uk
