  1. Hi, I wonder if someone can help.  I have a 67 plate is300h with 60k miles.  My front wheel bearing is gone.  Is this a premature wear and tear or is it in line with what the mileage and of the car?  Lexus have quoted £540 just for the part.  Also does anyone know if there are any other alternatives or is lexus the only supplier?  Will a pre facelift model wheel bearing fit? I hope I made some sense as I am clueless when it comes to cars. Thanks

Suspension aside, what about the space (or lack of it) in the back of an IS? I'd be more concerned about that in terms of it being a good choice as a taxi. I need to have the seat positioned almost as far back as it will go, which leaves barely any room in the rear. I've got a Mk2 IS, but I don't think it's that much more spacious in a Mk3.

Most cabs around here are usually Toyota Avensis diesels, or Auris Hybrid Estates.

As for leg room in the back, should be fine.  I have been driving a prius for a while now and no one has ever complained.  I have also been a passenger in the back of a lexus and although not the most spaceous, I wasnt squeezed in.  My main concern is just the stiffness of the ride which from what everyone in here is saying, it wouldnt be ideal for a taxi :-(

  3. You're right about German cars.  I do about 1000 miles a week and its quite shocking the number of mercs I see broken down on the side of the roads waiting for recovery. In my job, the most important thing is reliability.  I own a prius at the moment and apart from the usual service, i have had no issues.  It has 170000 on the clock and the thing just wont die! Thanks for the advice.  I have to make a decision now between a is300h premier on a 16 plate or the new facelift advance model 2017 for the same price

  4. Hi everyone, my name is Hamza and I am new to Lexus.  I hope someone can help me decide.

I have decided that it is a Lexus is300h I am going to buy, but just cant decide on the spec.  I am totally in love with the F sport and everything that comes with it.. the lfa style dial.. wheels.. oh and the rose leather interior!

Now the big dilemma for me is that I work as a taxi driver.  How comfortable would the sports suspension be and the low profile tyres for passengers sitting in the back? As everyone knows, we have been blessed in this country with a fair amount of potholes.  So is it bareable or would they want to jump out as quickly as they jumped in.

Now common sense would say and still keeps telling me to get an executive/advance but I am just in love with the f sport!

I hope someone can give me the slightest hint of hope!
