  1. i have seen a lot of complaints online regarding the engine and noise problems in gs450h so i was wondering it might be the same underlying problem but no one has posted any diagnosis. i have had it for two years, it has full service history. i replaced the suspension last year with the service and MOT. the recent service was done 4 weeks ago. when lexus put the registration number in their system, it came up as an IS300h. i am very confused.
  2. Could somebody help guess a diagnosis. I can’t pay 2000£ labour for diagnosis. It’s 2010 gs450h at 116,000 miles. Serviced 3 weeks before breakdown by Lexus. All of a sudden the car tried to stop while I was accelerating on the motorway, felt like a blown tyre, lost balance and speed. Could have been involved in a serious accident. For safety concerns, I need support to warn other owners If there is a potential danger and common fault in the gs450h model that could prove dangerous. The manufacturer would never admit a flaw in the design, although some cars were recalled for safety concerns regarding the engine performance. 98F0E537-E72F-4A86-803E-D7F8C691A549.MOV
  3. Could anybody diagnose? E347CA9A-1A5C-4429-AC9E-D80D1139A3E3.MOV
  4. It happened while I was accelerating on the motorway and the engine started braking and car lost balance and felt like I had blown a tyre but it was the engine. Nearly lost my life.
  5. 2010 gs450h brokedown at 116,000, 3 weeks after service by Lexus. Does anybody know what it is, Lexus doesn’t know. FBD29CC7-66C2-4D29-B657-EA9FBA81DD5D.MOV
  6. seems like it was but i am not sure. lexus refused to release the full details of all the cars affected, it might be too late to take action as the warranty expired and the car is 7 years old (so they say anything could happen). it might explode one day, not their problem. i am happy that i did not die on the autobahn. i am writing off. moving on to bmw.
  7. to all lexus fans and PR campaigners, there is a link for you below https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/news/legal-motoring-advice/2010-07/lexus-recall/
  8. CONCLUSION: 5 star reliability rating for Lexus is mythical and overrated. lets just say the old lady coughed and dislocated her vertebrae.
  9. has anybody heard about a valve spring recall? if you have an older gs 450h and you accelerate harsh. you might break the engine valve spring like i did. lexus says, only certain VIN numbers were affected but apparently there were more than those certain numbers.
  10. there is clattering noise coming from under the car, Lexus had a look. they quoted 20k for a new engine. the car isn't worth 10k. i want the engine strip open and see what happened but that will cost me over £2000. I took great care of it, had 3 services done over the last 2 years for 30k miles. lexus had a quick look and jumped to conclusion ''you must have been driving without the oil, £20,000 please''. i am pretty sure, the car has never been without the oil in it. it ruined my vacation, may have to right off a valuable asset. it happened when i accelerated and reached 140mph and bang goes the engine. i thought it was a puncture or suspension problem, the way car became unstable.

  12. Engine failure on the autobahn in the fast lane, I don’t need to exaggerate the danger. Full service history and engine failed at 116k causing breaking and loss of balance. Had to pull over in emergency, recovered back to UK only to find out the engine collapsed for unknown reason. It was probably the odd one they get wrong once in a while.
