Simple Question i hope: how do i change the rear shocks on a IS200 sport 2003 plate.
my understanding is:
for each rear wheel in turn:
1) Jack up and remove wheel.
2) from inside boot, remove the three (?) nuts securing shock.
3) fit spring compressors and tighten enuff just to take up the compression.
4) undo and remove shock lower mounting bolt.
5) remove shock and place in vice, or otherwise secure.
this is where my knowledge comes to and end. what else do i need to do?
also,
other than spring compressors, are there any other 'special' tools needed?
are any of the nuts/bolts a bugger to get off? the car has done 128,000 miles.
anything else i need to be wary of?
roughly how long to change both. there will be two people, so possibly we can do one each at same time?
if there is already a topic on this, the please post a link. ( i did search quite a lot, but could not find anything. which i thought was a bit strange.
anyway, many thanks in advance
