I have read about this before. Is your speedometer still in kmph? It has something to do with the way you convert the speed so that the speed ECU sees is a max of 180. It does not know that the number 180 is now in mph rather than kmph. Japan limits its cars to 180 kmph (~113mph). I might be wrong but this is what I read on these forums.

Hello everyone, I have done some searches but can't find an exact answer. We are going to germany at some point and we have a an X-reg, S-reg and 2002 Lexus gs430, ls400 and ls430. We would like to see if we can reach the top end speed, can anyone recommend a way of removing the 155 mph speed limiter on the UK models? I am assuming the 430s will have a similar way of removing the limiter but what about the 400? Thank you.
