The range wouldn't be such a big problem if the car had ultra-rapid charging. Wonder if they'll ditch the CHAdeMO connector and go for a better charge speed too but then the RZ still only manages 150kW charging. My two year old EV has 250kW. How long do we have to wait for Lexus to catch up?

Oh I agree that CHAdeMO ends up taking ages to charge the current UX 300e

  2. Hey all,

Whilst I was at Goodwood Festival of Speed, I was able to sit inside the new RZ 450e.

I was very impressed with the overall sense of space inside the car, it has quite a flat floor too.

I did notice there was no glovebox on the one that I sat in.

Overall materials felt on par with the NX/ES (not LC or LS level).

Boot seemed big and practical enough too!

With regards to pricing I have heard the figure from £55k, however a guy at Lexus mentioned it could be closer to £80k with options ( I guess time will tell).

    Regards,

    Thomas

Premier trim if you can stretch to it will give you the whole experience including the adjustable (non air) suspension which will give you the same ride as an F sport plus a lot more kit. The standard HUD is great.

Important Buy a car registered before April  2017 and it will be £115 a year rather than £400+ Road Tax

I love the fuel consumption = average nearly 37mpg over 7,000 miles since November.

If it has diamond cut wheels check the centres for signs of corrosion and push for a proper refurbishment or replacement.

There has been a recall for fuel pump replacement, check if it needs to be done.

My January 17 car had a water pump at 24000 miles before I bought it. That cost over £1000, so make sure you buy a Lexus Approved car with full warranty.

I have cream leather with brown interior and sapele wood. I sought out this combo because I didn't want black

Feel free to ask me more questions.

    Good hunting

Thats great advice! I never knew about the recall! Yeah the luxury car tax thing is a joke! Oh your interior sounds lush!

  4. Firstly great choice, the RX 450h is a terrific car! I have driven 2 models this year (F sport and the long wheel base). I would suggest trying to get the premier so that you can get the mark levinson sound system?
I dont know of any major issues to look out for, I guess the usual used car advice such as check for knocks or sensors lighting up dash etc? I love sonic titanium one of my favourite colours

    Hi,

I've got the Champagne Silver with a lovely black interior.

I can't believe the condition, considering it will be 20 years old next year, apart from slight bubbling on a couple of corners of the roof, it's immaculate, a credit to it's previous owners.

Welcome and car sounds lovely!! If its any consolation I also have some bubbling around my roof 😛

  6. Hey everyone,

Hope you are all keeping well?

I was not sure if many people knew about the ES takumi and the amazing features it adds to the rear seats. (if you were a chauffeur company it would make sense to use an ES takumi over a LS, at almost half the price too)
I made this video on the Takumi spec ES for anyone that wishes to check out the rear seat functions of the ES 300h takumi. Enjoy, Thomas 🙂

Hi! Me again! Sorry to be a pain ... BUT

    1) I have cream leather and it's a wee grubby. Is there a product that will bring the shine back?

    2) does anyone know where i can source a "gold" coloured magnetised fastener for my rear seatbelts ... one is missing and is the "loose" seat belt is driving me CRAZY!

    thank you x 2!

I have the Ecru leather too, I am looking to get mine cleaned

No worries, that's what clubs and forums are for. You're paying it forward with your informative You Tube vids as opposed to my poor efforts in that vein.....notes on how Not to treat your SC430. The infamous Bluewater meet and gate-crashing the MR2 owners club meet last year. All good fun but poorly edited. It was only for fellow SC430 owners really but the build thread has been viewed far more times than I ever imagined it would be. Probably due an update, perhaps I should engage you to do it professionally when I next fly to the Highlands.

Now that you have fixed the audio maybe you could have a go at my Nav screen project that needs finishing.WP_20200624_17_37_13_Pro.thumb.jpg.8f25208c1ac74bcbfa4e196258dd677a.jpg.

Pure madness. Real time OBD read out via bluetooth using Scantool and DashCommand.

Yeah I would be happy to film/edit a video of your car!! It looks awesome!! Wow what a screen!!

UK is not the best market for big petrol engines to start with and then if someone is in this market they will most probably go for something from Germany.

Good example is a GSF - brilliant car but in the UK only 70 or so were sold in few years. LC500 is even more expensive which probably would lead to even smaller sales.

As for the new LS, not a lot of changes but maybe early model will drop in price which then push down late 600h ones too.

I think I read that all slots for the upcoming LC 500 convertible has been sold (which I was sad about even though I couldn't afford one haha)

If it did indeed sell, then to answer the original question, it was worth the price, to the buyer!

very true! With the SC being a rare car and someone might be willing to spend anything for their ideal spec 🙂
