I posted info on 26 February that should help you. Hopefully, having gone through the steps you've already taken, it won't be too bigger step to do the reset. Good luck.

So I did the full reset and finally things seem to be talking again. I had to do a couple of re-registrations with the app before the car finally started greeting me by name again, not requiring me to accept the terms each time and remembering preferences for driver assist and the meter layout. It seems that things like radio presets didn't get automatically restored and there is a gap in journeys shown in the app between applying the software update and finally getting communications restored. Also a couple of journeys today haven't shown up yet (the last 2 are there, but 2 before that are missing, several others today are then there).

Hopefully all will be well now but do keep an eye on the communication icon. I found that I had to reconnect every trip until I did the reset. I didn't find it necessary to press the power button as you describe.

If you do need to go down the reset route, your journey data may not appear straight away. It did for me but it took a few days before it reliably appeared for a friend.

Yes unfortunately on next power cycle it has disconnected again, redid the steps but next power cycle back to the grey icon, so the reset it is going to have to be ...

  3. So I finally got around to trying the steps to turn the data link back on. I was about to follow the instructions above but the very first screen I came to under "Info & Security" had several options including "Activate all data" which was off. Selecting this to "on" brought up the "blue screen of agreement" after which the communication icon was now no longer greyed out. There was a warning about not all services being available that might require pressing the power button (presumed to mean infotainment power) for 3 seconds - so far I've not done this. I also needed to select "Use voice data" to on again which presumably explains why when I've tried to use "Hey Lexus" it has been continually saying it couldn't understand me; the agreement screen again appeared. With these selected I noticed traffic information was back on the map which had also been missing.

So far the app hasn't updated to show recent trips since I did the software update but will give it some time to do so before trying the full reset.

At least I seem to have re-established remote communications.

TL;DR - under "Info & Security" check that both "Activate all data" and "Use voice data" are selected to "on".

  4. Are people generally having to ask for this to be done or is it being addressed proactively? I had this issue last winter so if it happens again over the next cold snap I will have to talk to the dealer ...

By the way not had an issue with the 12 V Battery, mine was parked up for a while recently and switched on immediately when required. Although I did disable keyless entry for the duration which perhaps helped converse the 12 V Battery.

Hopefully that is an error rather than by design. You need both ends to be locked to stop someone removing it. If the car is on a schedule then it should lock/unlock the charge port with the doors.

It doesn't seem to lock at the car end and I recall this being mentioned on a previous post some time ago. Maybe I should try the car schedule rather than the charger schedule to see if it behaves any differently ...

  6. I've had mine serviced at Derby the last two times (I had been using Coventy but felt their customer service had gone downhill). It seems that since the Toyota and Lexus dealerships are next to each other they use the same physical workshops for servicing. I don't know if there are "special" Lexus technicians that work on the vehicle. Also when I needed a replacement mirror cover guess where it was to be found when the order came in ... in the Toyota stores!

    as above

1] the 12 v aux battery isn't charged by the engine, it is charged by the vehicle's low voltage supply which is provided by the hybrid system when it is in Ready mode. That energy comes from the high voltage traction battery, regenerative brakes or petrol engine as determined by the system. It isn't something you need to worry about or can control.

2] the petrol engine is started from one of the electric motors within the hybrid system, powered from the high voltage traction battery. The 12 v aux battery only provides standby power for retaining memory settings, the alarm and door locking/unlocking, and powers up the vehicle's systems to allow it to get into Ready mode when the hybrid system takes over.

As above [1] there is a component called a DC/DC converter which powers the low voltage (12 V) systems from the HV supply.

Because [2] the 12 V Battery is essentially only there to retain settings and power the vehicle up it doesn't need to be as large as one that has to have the capacity to crank an ICE for a cold start.

    Hello,

I picked up my new 450h 2 weeks ago immediately noticed a rattle on rough A roads.  Went in on Monday and dealer fixed it as could not hear it on way home (A pillar drivers side). The next trip which was about 80 miles and the longest so far I noticed a new  sound coming from in front of me when at motorway speeds on rough roads (possibly dash or steering column), also now getting used to the car the steering wheel is slightly offset.

    ...

What tyres are on your car, I noticed something similar and complained to the supplying dealer who checked the suspension etc. and said nothing was wrong. Over time the noise disappeared. Then when I got new front tyres it has come back. Car was supplied with Yokohamas and front tyres replaced with these. So wondering if its something to do with the tyres.

  9. I was told the registration for my car in March 2022 even though it didn't reach me until May 2022. (this was a fleet order). I think the way it works is that the dealer gets a block of registrations allocated and they may or may not let you pick one (I've had mixed experiences over the past few years on private new car purchases). The registration is notionally allocated to the car but it does not get "activated" with DVLA until the car is officially registered which is typically done on or just before the day of delivery. For my car this was done the day before delivery but it took a few days for this to be reflected in the public-facing DVLA records.

I'm sure most people already know this but the first character in the current UK scheme is regional, there are a couple of broad subdivisions for some of the letters but I'm not sure how allocation happens below that level. I searched some similar registrations to my car and found a wide variety of marques!

  10. After reaching 58 miles indicated from last night's charge, I did a couple of local trips then "topped up" giving an indicated 57 miles. I then did a round trip of around 50 miles, after 25 miles outwards the indicated range had dropped to around 31 miles. But I only managed around 23 miles of the trip back before the engine came on, so around 48 miles achieved in total. A mixture of different types of roads and speeds up to 60 mph.

  11. This evening's charge (having completely used up the "EV" range today despite a cheeky top-up while out and about) has breached the magic 60 again - 60 w/o AC, 58.2 with. The indicated range has been creeping up again over the last few weeks now that the weather is warmer. I'm approaching the first anniversary of having the car and it has done 20k miles. I will see if I can get a good estimate on achieved range over the next couple of days.
