How would you actually remove the panel to access the amplifier? Having a little trouble here

Hi,
I ended up getting Lexus Bolton to quote a repair for me while my car was in for a service, which from memory I believe was £270, apparently they see this same problem quite a lot. I since contacted Lexus Parts Direct and eventually managed to figure out what speaker is causing the problem (as even a Lexus parts specialist didn’t know that this speaker existed!). As it turns out, it’s not the central speaker in the dash, that speaker is just used for the audio system, there is an additional ASC dedicated speaker within a speaker-box which is located behind the radio within the dash. Ive added the link down below to the part but even the speaker and housing alone is £158.98 so I haven’t really been able to justify the cost to myself for a fake engine noise....

Hope this helps!
Ahhh okay, that clears things up regarding the speaker on the dash.
£160 odd just for the ASC speaker and housing?! Yeah I think I'm with you on that - not worth the time nor money. I'm guessing the repair would involve taking the dash apart which can bring it's own set of problems too. Fake engine noise isn't really my thing - glad they give the option to turn it off.
Thanks for the effort man!

I'm getting the same audio crackle when the ASC is switched on in my IS. It doesn't bother me too much as I don't care at all for fake engine noise and keep it switched off. But I am intrigued about whether the central speaker on the dash is solely dedicated to this feature...
No sound - amplifier gone?
