  1. Hi there

I have after market front & rear on buzzer fitted ot my GS, will try to add to the thread or email yo tou.

    Regards

    Wes

Well, after almost 4 weeks, they have turned up.. (thanks a lot Royal Mail) :(

Does anybody have the OEM factory fitted sensors, and could take a pic, so I have a good idea on where to fit them..

I have 8 sensors in total, 4 front, 4 back.

any advice welcome from anybody who has fitted them also.

  2. Looking at adding this bit of kit to smooth out the electrics.

Had several electrical/ electronic items added to my pride and joy over the last year, TV's / PS2 / remote engine start / LPG.

Checked on the good old interweb but not found anything specific for the GS.

Can anyone advise of how and where to purchase the kit.

  3. Hi All

Converted my GS last year, no probs to date.Had a second tank put in a few months later, for convenience.

    Get 400miles to 100ltr@ 32.9p

Only thing that was added was a liquid called valve saver, this lubricates the plastic valve seating to minimise the wear and tear during lpg useage.

Cost me 1600.00 all in plus 350 for the second tank.

Best thing I have done to the GS, fuel costs dropped dramatically.

  4. Howdy All

Had my alloys refurbed last year but looking a bit grim again.

Thinking of getting them polished / chromed / galvanised and then clear lacquer to keep the shine from dulling and the wheels from pitting.

Does the galvanising give it a chrome/ shiny finish and can the wheels be dipped.

    What do you think?????????????

  5. hello people

i had the same problem on my gs300, the cd was not being read nd the same error message was showing, Colin had a look at it and all was fien.

I spoke to lexus Stockport, who confidently advised that its the CD, they got a new cd in, put it into the reader, it updated the programming and hey presto all was and still is working.

  6. Hi there

Just had a set of 7inch screens fitted to the heardrests, new slimline PS2, three IR headphones. I used a place in Moston Manchester, very good fit.

Would recommend to LOC memebrs in the NW.

    Hello All

I am considering installing some headrest screens & a DVD player for the kids, just something simple for the time being.

Could anyone tell me how easy/hard the screens are to fit into the IS200 headrests? Also any info on how to do it would be appreciated.

    I have an SE Auto.

    Thanks.

    Stuart

  7. Just been checking a few web sites and found one that does the brake dust shields for GS300.

They custonmise th shield to each type of alloy wheel, just send them a picture of the wheel and they sort the rest out.

The cost is £39.00 a pair or £59.00 for a full set.

Any chance of sorting out a group buy.

I know what you mean, a universal centre plate with a 18' rubber mat that you cut down to size the wheel, i sold these some years ago and had to discontinue the sales soon after! "why" most modern cars vent the brakes through the front valance and the "wheel", once the mat was fitted the customer suffered brake fade due to the pads over heating, look at the wheel pattern and you can see in most cases the spokes are angled the reason is to capture air and cool the brakes , please be careful... unless things have changed?

The front are fitted with black diamond vented and grooved discs witht eh predator pads, i do on average 600 miles mix of motorway and local so the bakes are used a fair bit.

Based on the advise will leave the brakes as is and just clean them more often.

  9. i'm sure i read on here somewhere you've already got a chrome grille on your car it's just painted black ...so with some mild paint stripper you've got your chrome grille already.

i'm sure it was colin who's mentioned it before

I did mine a few weeks ago, used some paint stripper, cloth and a stanley blade.

Dab the stripper onto a few of the slats and leave for a minute or two, then just scrape off the top/ front edge only.

MAKE SURE YOU PUT A SHEET ONTO THE CAR TO SAFEGUARD THE PIANT.

WILL TRY TO POST SOME PICS.

  10. I think it is worth getting the full alignment done on the GS like the IS

defintely Col - and I am in email contact with Tony Bones about a full geometery check.

However Lexus (at least lexus chester and liverpool) do not do full geometery checks - ony relatively simple 4 wheel alignments.

Awais - find out from Stockport what it is they are doing for that money mate.

if its just a four wheel alignment, you can get it done significantly cheaper than that

Spoke to Lee @ Stockport, he comfirmed that it is the full geomerty.

He mentioned, camber, castor & king pin settings etc are part of the work.

Also advised him he might be getting some more inquries on this item.

If anyone is thinking of going for a geomerty calibration then mention the forum and he will look after you.

  11. Had my 1998 MKII GS converted last year.

I average 600 - 800 miles per week, had a second tank fitted in the spare tyre well.

London return is 450 miles for me and can be done on a full fill up of 112ltrs @ £36, get a bit less around local roads.

Its the second best thing I did, first was buying the GS.

I had the fastlube fitted because of the valve seatings, used an LPGA approved installer cost £1600.00 all in, money well spent.

The guy is really good, family outfit, knows his cars inside out.

Did'nt feel any difference in performance, as always in power mode.

  12. Just read the Geometry topic in the IS200 forum.

My GS is running in the same manner as described post geometry calibration.

Rough drive when going over bumps, pulling to one side etc.

My tyres are in good condition, balancing & tracking are correct.

Do the GS300's require the same adjustment, I have spoke to Lee at Lexus Stockport and have been informed full price is £120+vat, £80 all in for me as I am a regular at Stockport, plus have responsiblity for all servicing and repair for three GS's and one IS, so Lee really looks after me.

  13. Welcome to the forum

Sounds like the same problem I had on my 1998 GS300, not sure if the cd is DVD on mine. I had to do buy a new disc and it sorted out the problem.

Ask your local dealer if they can order you the current disc for your GS, play it and see that works, if not then you have bigger problems.

Locate the DVD unit. Remove the two screws and pull the front of the unit up. With the ignition on press the eject button and the disc will come out.

The discs do get a bit dirty so hopefully that is all it is.

Thanks...Got the DVD out but still u/s Lexus say the unit is faulty and needs replacing £1400 ouch !!!

  14. Won't be a fuse unless the window and mirror also isn't working on that door as it's all controlled via the door ECU.

Does the door lock if you use the internal door lock button? I guess there is a problem with the locking motor but could be wiring or door ECU

Thanks for that Colin, the door lock button does'nt do anything to the drivers door, will be taking into lexus for further investigation
