  1. I have owned previously:
2005 IS250 - great car if there is not more than 2 people in it (not a lot of leg room in the back). It has great road feedback and a sporty feel to it. Drove it for 3 years - only did annual maintenance on the car at the dealer.

2011 GS450h - loved the torque and the size (not the size of the boot though). Comfortable car to drive on a longer cruise. During the 4 years I did annual maintenance at the dealer and had the water pump changed

2016 GS200t F-Sport - The only good thing was the look of the front of the car. The car was not very sporty nor it was very comfortable. I didn't like the engine at all. Did only annual maintenance.

2018 LS500h F-Sport - This brings me back the joy, performance and comfort of the GS450h.

I have thought of getting myself an older IS-F for a Sunday car to bring back good memories with a punch, but we'll see about that.

It is hard for me to give you a good answer, but it depends on your preferences:

    1. If you want space, comfort and power - go with GS450h

    2. If you want an experience and joy - go with IS250

    3. If your options are IS250 or GS300, then I would choose IS250 (if size is not an issue. 4-people driving in the car daily is not so comfortable)

    I hope it helps!

    Engine Compartment x2
    Passenger Compartment x2
    Boot x1

That is a good start! After trying out Cruisermark's recommendation and it does not result in success, then I would recommend to look for short circuits (long and boring process). Here is a good instruction for it LINK. You should start checking with the circuits that are affected.

  3. Just finished another call with my dealer regarding CarPlay. They recommended to call/send e-mail/letter directly to the importer (Toyota (GB) PLC in UK). The dealers themselves have very little power to put pressure on Toyota/Lexus Europe (Toyota Motor Europe) to get the ball rolling regarding the development.

I have sent an e-mail to Toyota Baltic (importer in my region) regarding that.

If we put enough pressure on the importers, then they might make it more of a priority.

I encourage everyone that wish to have it on their LC/LS to send a polite reminder that the retrofit is highly anticipated - the number of requests matters!

People outside of the UK should contact your local importer (your local dealer can provide the required contacts).

  4. I could not find the best data, but for example. In the first half of 2020 Lexus sold 1475 units of LS in US and Canada compared to 61 in Europe.

LC and LS owners in Europe are too insignificant for Lexus - or we do not make enough noise.

    Hi guys,

Just wanted to offer some hope to you all - my dealer (Wolverhampton) confirmed to me that the CarPlay retrofit for LC500/h was delayed by Covid-19 but is likely to land November/December time.

This seems to have been confirmed by Lexus UK in a comment reply dated 27th July 2020 on their CarPlay blog post, so maybe there is hope after all?

Thank you for posting the link. The latest answer (16. sept) from Lexus UK includes also LS:

"The retrofit date for apple CarPlay and Android Auto is model dependent.
UX, ES and NX retrofits are scheduled for October, with RC, LC and LS to follow at a later date."

  6. Has anyone done an upgrade with the aftermarket add-on that keeps the option of the original system (like: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32906314166.html?spm=2114.12010612.8148356.17.413179daTb7MmX or similar from AliExpress)? I am trying to find a solution for my LS500 that also lacks the CarPlay functionality and I am looking for recommendations here.

I am very skeptical that there will be a retrofit coming in the near future (or if at all) for our cars in Europe.

Connect phone via usb, activate screen mirroring on your phone and go to Mirorcast and activate there too. For, me, it just worked out of the box, just followed instructions in the manual.

I tried it on a LS500. Did not work unfortunately.

Hi All. I'm seriously thinking of buying a Lexus Sport Plus but, since all the reviews give the infontainment system a severe slating, I was hoping I could get the car with Apple CarPlay. I've read with interest all of your comments and speculation on this. I spoke to my local Lexus dealer the other day and he had no knowledge of whether Apple CarPlay might be introduced to new LC500s and/or as a retrofit. I then emailed Lexus UK and they replied that there are no plans to introduce Apple CarPlay to the LC500. Considering that Apple CarPlay is being introduced into some of the Lexus range I find it remarkable that Lexus's flagship model is not included. If anyone has any better knowledge on all this then I'd love to hear. Thanks

I did a similar inquiry regarding my LS500. The local dealer had no information regarding the possibility to do the retrofit. Then I contacted the Lexus Baltic (they supply all the Lexus cars in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania). They informed the following: "Based on the responses to further inquiries, we can say that the manufacturer's offer of a solution for the EU LS model Retrofit is under investigation, but unfortunately no further details are expected in the near future."

  9. Hello

I am writing from Estonia. I have a 2018 LS 500h with 17LDL2EU-DB01 without AA and AP. I cannot get any information regarding the upgrade for LS. Could anyone ask a dealer in UK (or somewhere else) if there will be one? It should have the required hardware to be eligible for the Update. The US & Canada version (17LDL2NA-DB01) for the vehicle has the Update.

I apologize for writing in ES thread, but it is the first discussion that I have seen in EU regarding the question that includes some good info.

    BR

    Oliver
