Thanks, good to know. I maybe went a little light on the wattage. Roof mounting might not work too well for me because of the snow and cold. Good to know about the OBD@ connection. Where did you find out about it? I've searched all over.
I bought a Coleman 3.5 watt. Seemed to do okay in the summer. But now it's the winter so it has to cope with minus 20 and snow covered or frosted windshield.
Good to know that the circuitry is good. With the covid lockdowns the car doesn't get driven a lot, maybe once a week which is barely enough to keep the battery topped up.
Thanks for your comment.
Yes, the OBD11 socket under the dash. Thanks for the reply, good to know, a relief. My battery has been giving me problems as the car doesn't get driven much during the pandemic lockdown. This should really help.
I bought a solar battery keeper and I have it connected to the data terminal under the steering wheel. Does anyone know if the data terminal is live when the car is off and locked?
Why can't I plug it into the accessory socket? Are any of them live with the power off and the car locked? Is there any way of turning one of the accessory sockets on?
Battery was flat again today after 6 days.
My 12v battery loses charge in about 12 days. Is this normal? I can\t tell if it's a battery that's dying or a voltage drain which of course I can't detect. Solution currently is to drive it every week but is this normal? I'd appreciate any advice.
