Nx is being replaced and so will the RX in 2022.
The GS450h will always be the latest hybrid RWD sedan from Lexus as there is no replacement.
It will hold its value better than the current generation NX and RX once the new generation is released.

No reported issues with 2012+ Gs450h or gs300h.
however 2006-2010 Gs has has plenty of their Battery packs replaced. It’s a known problem with internal TSB.

Funnily enough, mine is going in for a replacement transmission oil pump in a few weeks. The technician said it was a little noisy and would probably last a while yet, but the warranty company agreed to change it anyway.
For reference, mine has 98,000 miles on it, which is perhaps higher than a majority of the Mk4 GS's out there.
What error code did you get with the oil pump.

Just checked. Your car is not subject to the fuel pump recall and there are no other recalls for it.
-
Get a 2016+ GS450h or a GS F.
-
You can get the one from Denso. Same as OEM. Cheaper.
-
Looks good, it's from Osaka where they don't get much snow. What is your chassis number? I can check if the fuel pump recall has been completed in Japan.

there is no 'flashing'. A DTC is a DTC, it if comes back then there is an issue.

So that means it wasn’t brought at an auction.
Under detailed history. What was the last 3 location?

Indeed - I could set English language there, but still few fields are not translated and I it comes with some regional settings like maps, radio bands, tv that just doesn't work (not a big deal). Other than that it have pretty much same stuff as here.
I see - actually apart from full service book, I don't have the auction documentation, but I wonder if I ask the garage that sold the car for it. I bought it already, so I don't see the reason of not sharing it - unless something was fishy there. They said it was without any repairs/accidents - however the report would show the truth I guess.
Is there any chance to check past auctions history by any chance? I assume it would need to match the source that garage used too, so likely no chance for that, but I have the import date, so something along the lines would possible allow me to match the car if there is an option like that.
Look at the jap chassis number which is stamped at the door plate. It should say GWL10-xxx
Put that number into carvx.jp and pay a small fee
post the link to the report here and I can help with the translation of some of the auction comments.

Thanks guys! I moved from the Civic Hybrid 2008 that I used for last 4 years and change to that GS was like moving from from studio to the mansion 😂 especialy when it comes to the hybrid system operation. I'm really impressed how they made it possible to have that much power available and on the other hand so efficient if driven lightly 🙂
I also got reply from some company providing map updates that only way to get rid of JP maps is to change the whole head unit with EU, but that would be tough as I've seen pretty much none on the second hand market as of now - I guess that would need to wait a bit 😄
As of price it looks for me that the import price from UK and all paperwork to make it driveable in ROI would kind of come to the same that I've paid, but still not sure how they sourced the car from JP and how much was it, so that's more of a guess 🙂
It’s easy to check the auction they brought it from. The sold price in JP and the auction sheet which will mark out the grade of the car, including replaced panels or repaired.
lots of f sport from Japan are minor crash repaired. I look at these auctions every day.

Welcome Bart.
Interesting that they got it from Japan rather than the UK. I wonder if the spec is different?
I agree that the GS is a great place to pass the miles in, but then I am biased 🙂
F Sport in Jap it’s fully optioned. The only non standard item is the ML audio.

I have been checking the cars websites for a GS450H MY 2008-11 and I noticed this evening that this one had disappeared from Carzone. Anyway it was not of my interest as I am looking for the previous model and moreover I know that Airside Motor Centre mostly deals with Japanese imports and as my Prius is one of them I do not want another Japanese import as my Prius has the MFD in Japanese and I have been unable to use most of the functions and info because they are in Japanese. But it is really a good looking GS you bought even though white is not my favourite colour. Enjoy!
Ps did you drive from Dublin down to Cork with the current restrictions to 5 kms? You are brave!
All the Japan 2012+ GS is able to set the MFD to English.

Lexus will do recalls on imports, as required by law.
There will be no warranty from Lexus, even with a brand new import from Japan.
If a dealer offers it, that’s on them.
there is zero difference between the hybrid systems. Parts are 100% the same.

The traction Battery will go out prematurely at some point because of excessive current draw. You need to apply the update that was applied to 2011 models.

Auto lock can be set with Techstream. Nothing to do with region.

I wouldn't charge it with the AGM mode, the normal mode is suitable for AGM. AGM mode just sends it a higher voltage which is not required.
Also AGM doesn't really last longer, it's to do with safety because there is no liquid that can leaked when your car is rear ended and is upside down, thats why all batteries in the boot is AGM.
Imagine this, someone rear ends your car, your car flips and the Battery case cracks leaking acid into your face and eyes while you're stuck inside.
-
I wouldn't use the recond function on the CTek for the AGM. AGM doesn't really like high voltage pulses and also I am not sure if this is bad for the cars electronics if you leave the terminal connected. The "normal" mode is what I use for AGM, if you read the manual, the AGM mode is only for certain AGM batteries, not the Panasonic one.
Also, what is the voltage of the Battery after you have charged it and left it overnight? The voltage will tell you the state of charge and you'll know if your batter is still good (can hold charge), or needs replacement.

i have both the NOCO and CTek MXS5.0. However I wouldn't use the recond function on them, not comfortable with it sending high voltage pulses when the Battery is still connected to the car with all these electronics.

So guys am I right in saying that with the Ctek I connect it upto the battery via the eyelet connectors and then it just sits next to the battery in the engine bay?
And there is no harm in leaving it connected permanantly
correct. however installing the eyelets on my gs or rx hybrids prevent the boot mats from closing, so I had to do without them.

Hi all..
This is sort of an observation and a question.. my GS450h has been parked up for nearly 2 weeks now, and the keyless entry has become erratic. I can't open or start the car first thing in the morning, then 20 minutes later it's fine.
I measured the 12v battery at 12.35v after sitting all night.. is this low enough to mess with the keyless entry?
Thanks 🙂
Thanks voltage is fine, most likely to do with your fob Battery.

Never use a standard type fast charger on a maintenance-free (or AGM) battery - plates reinforced with Calcium are much more prone to damage than old fashioned Antimony - reinforced batteries.
Many CTeks have the AGM mode. I have used the AGM mode many times on my RX450h and GS450h and haven't seen any adverse effects (still on the same battery). Are you seeing negative effects?

I would never buy a car from turners auction, mostly they are trade-in from dealers that they want to get rid of. Also, if you wanted a 3rd gen GS450h, get one from mid-2010. They have had ECU reprogramming to reduce drain on the traction Battery, which was the main reason why pre-2010 models needed to have traction batteries replaced.

Probably best to trade it in. Not worth fixing a sluged up motor.
