  1. My LS460 (2007) went in for its MOT yesterday and on driving the night before my front HID bulb went but also the Tyre pressure sensor warning light came on. The garage put the car on the diagnostic machine and it showed TPS no 1 so I am unsure as to which one that is? It has turned off so with the bulb replaced it went through the MOT yet on an early run today the light is back on so I need to change the sensor or do I change all of them?

Can anyone recommend a make to go for?

is it usual to change the one and if so how do you know which one? Or do I change all four?

any help and advice would be appreciated thanks

  2. Just search on eBay using the part number you gave and I have just seen two adverts, I think the price was £48

I have had 3 of my cars have broken springs this year which I guess can only be bad luck.
good to hear you are putting the 400 back on the road

    good luck

  3. Just collected my car today after having the sway bar and top suspension arms bushes renewed with the PSB Polly replacements and very happy with the result. A better feel and a more planted ride which brings back the magic carpet feel. Well worth doing and now a clean bill of health on the next MOT (I hope!)

PS bushes are supplied with special lube so this far no squeaks, lets see what happens in a year or so's time!

  4. My car finally went in to the garage for the bushes to be replaced and in conversation with the garage decided to fit the sway bar and top control arm bushes which were the ones listed on the MOT and as the others were all ok leave those until they needed to be done. As I am fitting them as an upgrade of standard bushes in polly rather than for performance that made good sense to me. In all the work took 4 hours.

I picked the car up this morning and immediately felt the difference.  It was like driving a much tighter car at the front and feeling more planted on the road. A job well worth doing and I am very pleased with the result not to mention the cost advantage over the new arms from Lexus.

I have no connection with PSB in Bournemouth, the bush supplier, but would happily recommend them to any of our members.

So Up to London at the weekend for my first long trip with this improved magic carpet ride!

  5. Hi I have just bought a set of bushes for the front end of my LS460 which I think is more or less the same as the LS600 and wondered if you could share the number of hours the garage charged for the work as I really have little idea and I am phoning the garage for a quote but pretty sure they won’t have done one before. Thank you and really good to hear your car is giving you great service and pleasure to drive.

  6. Hi All,

I have a quote locally for a front and rear bumper off respray as I would like an end result that looks as original as possible. I have a silver car and know this is not an easy colour to work with and clearly its not cheap to have done. I wondered if anyone on the board has had theirs done recently and if so what is a fair price so I can shop around?

    Thanks for your input

  7. I decided I wanted to address the MOT advisories that I have worn upper suspension bushes so I had a look on the board and found that a member had ordered from PSB a company in Bournemouth. My car has only covered 80K miles however when speaking with their helpful team I eventually decided to go for the whole 12 piece set as per the images of what has arrived this morning only a couple of days after placing my order. I was told that I would not get the full warranty on part of the set due to an issue with the Lexus design but I felt it worth a punt to try.

Now off to my regular garage to book it in for the replacement. I will post back once done and an update on the ride.

  8. Some of you would have seen me have a little wobble and was recently thinking of selling my LS460, having had more of a look out there to see what is about for the money and in speaking with a couple of club members I really have realised that these are great cars and show real value for money.

Mine has cost very little in repairs and servicing and been extremely reliable and comfortable, it was suggested by my wife that me having 3 cars was a bit excessive so I thought I would try and sell one, I just picked the wrong one ! so if you know anyone who wants to but a Mercedes slk280 2006 with 45k on the clock I could be ya man!

So I had a couple of hours this afternoon and sat back and thought what would I do to extend the pleasure of owning the LS460 and thought the two bumpers could have a respray and as the MOT highlighted some wear in the front top suspension bushes I would renew these. I have been on the phone with PSB in Bournemouth and they have been most helpful so now I have bought all 12 bushes for the front so will report back as to the effect of this once my garage has fitted them. I was quite impressed as they say they make poly bushes as an alternative to standard and not as, many other manufacturers do, for performance. That along with the recent 4 new Michelin's I added should give me an MOT without any advisories and a car that should be good for another 80K miles.

Thanks to all those who contributed to settling my wobble I look forward to contributing to the board for a while yet.

Thanks for this, I had a look at some SE-L options and found this one from a private seller: Lexus LS460 SE-L, 85k miles, UK car, Petrol, Auto | eBay

It's 2007, similar mileage and lower price. Might be worth checking that one out too?

Hi that’s my car currently for sale on eBay and I have had a number of LS models and this has been a lovely car, message me if you would like to discuss, it would probably be worth viewing to compare with the other car you are looking at. Be aware that used car warranties don’t usually cover parts that have failed due to ware and tear so worth having an independent check over. Anyway happy to chat if you feel useful.

    regards Paul
