I am not sure how the TPMS sensors would have any bearing on the symptoms you describe?

sounds like a tracking, wheel balance (not tyre now) or other suspension type issue.

went to Toyota/Lexus and was told the ongoing issue with the tracking could be related to my tires even if they look and are very good. I m going to change front tires only and see if thats going to be sort it

  2. Hi

anyone knows how to reset the TPMS sensors on the 2019 ES300h???

anyone ever had a problem with the tracking? Did mine 4 times in a 6 wks period and always after 3-4 days tracking is out again and steering wheel goes a bit to the left, not straight anymore. Lexus told me tires are the problem so i changed them. Any ideas???

i remember on my IS there was a TPMS reset button some place.

    Will do.

Will be hard to tell ceramic/non ceramic but at least the paint won’t have been destroyed with a sponge/brush valeting or some pointless “coating” like Supagard on it 👍

Thinking to do my bumpers and bonet with ppf clear/protection film

Due to collect mine from the dealer on Monday (after it’s spent 3 days at the detailer first) - all docs signed/paperwork etc and the car will be taxed/registered on Friday 😄👍

Nice one...drive safe 😊 put up some pics so i can see how it looks like ceramic coating and all.

I am certainly going to look at a range of options for mine.

I assume the ES (as it does not have the same sized front brakes as my GS450h) will pretty much take any alloy from Lexus - I know a set from an IS220d (17’s) fit my GS450h (fitting them to my Avensis in the summer) so I’d imagine any IS etc will fit.

From what i know most lexus alloys will fit for sure. I dont know anything about size of front brakes. I powder coat my alloys from my ex Lexus Is and i was using hyunday tucson alloys as a replacement for a few days 😁

Might be worth trying building supply places like Wickes. I think they use some pretty dense polystyrene type materials for insulation.

Will try everything...have to sort it out somehow. Thanks 🙂

Hmm, I have a similar problem with my trolley jack, I can’t see a way of storing it below the boot lining. Does it fit in the space behind the wheel arch? You could carve a foam block to hold your jack securely and fashion a board that conceals the jack behind it and if you glue that board onto the foam it will hold it in place, maybe even find an appropriate OEM handle to attach to it. I saw someone on the LS group reupholster their tired centre console here and I think that material would look right in the boot to cover all that custom work.

As for the other tools, would it be possible to mount the spare inside facing up? That might eek out a little extra space.

Edit for clarity - flip the spare the other way round

Thats the way my wheel is at the moment so i can gain a bit of extra space and so the box i m going to make will fit into the wheel. Hope will come ok :)) there is no space behind the wheel arch on the ES. Was thinking about the foam thing too but cant find any place i can get it from. Also will try to get the original grey foam car jack holder from an 2017 up passat as a 2nd option if i find any.

Hey, bit late to the game here so maybe OP has figured a solution. My experience with space savers/steelies on a car with alloys is to be careful with wheel bolts. You might want a set of shorter wheel bolts as the longer alloy wheel bolts may cause damage to the hub, also the correct length of bolts definitely safer. Otherwise I prefer to ditch any original tools in favour of a hydraulic jack (bottle or trolley), breaker bar and correct sized sockets (remember some alloys have deep bolts so either an extension or longer sockets may be needed), all of this can be heavy but so much faster and safer especially if you're at the side of the road. Personally also carry a torque wrench because of my penchant for snapping bolts, but that's totally optional so long as you are careful.

Also if you choose to go with the typical OEM tool kit, one thing that they never pack is a wheel block/chock, but strongly recommended for safety.

I m going to use sound deadening/insulation on all floor where the spare wheel is coming but i m looking for a way to store the car jack and all other bits and pieces. I might make a box from a peace of playwood to sit on top of the wheel spacer as i dont see any other way to store all this.

Great idea. I am about to move from my brilliant GS450h to an ES300 Premier, due this weekend then it has 3 days of full new car detailing/machining and ceramic coating.

I may rob my spare from my GS450h as it’ll be going to auction anyway!

Keep the wheel if you have it on your GS and the secure bolt, fits perfectly.
i m not into ceramic coating, doesnt last, did 2 cars before plus the climate/rain not helping at all, waste of money. Have a friend he did it on a Tesla S last year and he said the same thing and paid good money for it then went to the garage where the coating was done and complain about it as he was told lasts up to 3 yrs and they blamed him that He was supossed to wash the car with some special shampoo, never to selfwash places and alot of other stupid things he was never told before.

Buffering if really needs too enough but not recomended more then 1 stage  not good for the clear coat and then wax every 3-4mths. Will get myself fusso99 as i seen very good rewiews for it.

Dominic and Andrew,  bought the GS300 space saver on ebay for £45, also bought on ebay a Toyota spare wheel securing bolt  that is pretty much standard across Lexus and Toyota as  the ES has the captive nut in the boot floor as standard.  Although the making of the dummy floor  was straightforward and there was no modifications needed to the spare wheel well  I decided to go back to the original arrangement and refit the moulded tool kit and tools back into the wheel well to preserve originality. I now carry my space saver in the boot in a nylon cover.  Yes I do lose a bit of boot space but not too much

    Hi

Have the spare wheel, securing bolt, fits perfect, glad i took your advice. The problem is how did you built the New dummy Floor? I dont know where to keep all tools the kit that came into the grey moulding. 😟😟 want them to be nice and neat.

Might be a bit late, but I also have a 2019 ES base model. Other points to note - quite incredibly there is no Auto wipe function! I know, right? You have to .. do it manually!!! First world problems and all that, but I find it ridiculous in a prestige brand.

The default sound system is... insipid. Adequate maybe. You get sound in the front, precious little in the back.

Yes,thats true,no auto wiper function but i can live with this 😂 even if it is ridiculous 😟Had an IS 300h before and had this AUTO function too...i m happy with the car, fuel consmuption very good but not really getting used to this seats 😬 What i discovered lately was that in the trunk/boot there is no  cotton/isolation panel on the upper part too. Same in your car??? Let me know please. Front Parking sensors guidance in yours are displayed on the central main display when you faceing something or on cluster display only???
Have appointment soon with Toyota/Lexus for an upgrade on media for CarApple Play and change setting for open/close windows from keyfob
    Thanks.

been looking for that "Toyota spare wheel securing bolt" (long, short ones)but there are lots of different ones 😳😟 and i dont know which one to pick.

Also tried to place the original grey moulded tool kit in top of the wheel just to see if it fits as you said and no chance to stand in place.
there is any way you can make a few more photos/video of how you place the grey moulded kit in top of the wheel, please???
    thanks.

I think the 'correct' pressure is 2.4 for normal under 100 mph running. Personally I normally run just a tiny bit over the standard pressure, so 2.5. 3.1 seems way too high and you are likely to prematurely wear the middle part of your tyres.

Front and rear pressures are the same on the ES300h.

    Thank you 😊

There is any way to change the settings for the front parking sensors guidance to be displayed on the 8 inch center/media display instead of the small cluster display. Reverse camera/parking sensors comes up on the center display but the front doesnt.

  14. Hi

I m drivind a 2019 ES 300h base model and i just wonder if there is any way i can change the settings for the front parking sensors guidance to be displayed on the 8 inch center/media display instead of the small cluster display. Reverse camera/parking sensors comes up on the center display but the front doesnt.

on my previous car IS 300h if i was faceing a wall or a car the guidance and the distance in front was showing up on the center media display.

What will be the right pressure for tires?
does if have to be higher for the front wheels?

At the moment on my car front is 3.1 and back is 2.6 on 17 inch wheels.

    thanks.

Installed my space saver and made new dummy floor.  Feel better for having an old fashioned spare. What original tools I need I now carry in my mini trolley jack case.

    Hi

Got the exact same wheel as yours from ebay for my 2019 ES 300h.
Did you make any modifications in the boot? How did you secure the wheel?
    thanks.

The car in the picture appears to be the Base model as it doesn't have triple beam LEDs and it has 17" wheels.

For the U.K. Spec, the next step-up is Premium Edition which is available for MY21.

If the car you are looking at is older than that then the next step up is Premium Pack which gives you extras such as Memory Seats, 18" wheels, real leather, sun blinds (manual on rear side and electrical on rear), adaptive triple beam LED lights, heated and ventilated seats, rear cross traffic alert and blind spot monitors which are most notable. Almost forgot, the Premium Pack will get you configurable thigh cushion support and 4-way lumbar as well for the driver's seat.

I think the choice will really be if more than one people will regularly use the car or not. If yes then Memory Seats are IMHO very important, if not then the base model comes with enough kit already.

Not sure if Car Play was standard on 2019 base model, you can check by pluging in your phone.

The other upgrade route is F Sport but as I was not interested in F Sport personally I never explored it in detail.

    Hope that helps...

    Cheers,

    --E

I will be the only one driving the car so i will be ok with the base model. There is only 12k miles on the car.
There is no apple Carplay but called lexus today and will cost me €100 for that. There is a sunroof and i m very happy about that. Seen an F Sport today, same year for an extra 5k only for a few extra options as you said. I will be willing to pay an extra 5k in case i m buying a brand new car only.
i will stick with the base model and i have ordered today a nice set of wind deflectors for it as they are amazing on a Rainy day.
there is a big step up for me as this car is way bigger then what i m driving now a 2015 lexus Is 300h which in the last 2 yes the car was bulletproof,no hassle at all.

    Thanks.

MOTs are only carried out once a vehicle is three year's old so it won't have a record.

If you have service history you could phone the dealer who did the last service.

Otherwise an HPI check would verify mileage but that is only if the previous owner filled in the mileage on the DVLA form - which isn't compulsory.

    Thank you 😇

There are big differences between Base grade Model and the next one?
is it worth to pay and extra 4-5 k just to get the next grade? Basically same car but more extras i think.

  18. 9 minutes ago, ColinBarber said:

Assuming the grades in Ireland are the same as UK then that is an ES base grade. It doesn't have the triple LED headlights of the Takumi or the base grade + premium pack.

It certainly isn't an F Sport - it doesn't have the F Sport wheels or front grille.

It won't have CarPlay from the factory, but I think the retrofit is now available at dealers - you will have to check with your local dealer what they will charge to upgrade it.

    Car comes from UK

so it is a Base model then

Been trying to check on the MOT website for the mileage too but there is no record

any other way to check mileage?
    Thanks.

  19. Hi

I m going to buy a 2019 ES 300h from a garage but the problem is that i dont know what version/model it is. From what i know there are 3 versions/models, Base,F Sport and Premium/Takumi.

The guy from the garage didnt know the exact model too. We been looking on the Vehicle Documentation/details and there is nothing about this.
    On D1 make :Lexus
, D2 type, Variant and Version some codes (number and letters)

Been trying to check on sites online by VIN No but nothing comes up.

    Anyone any ideas???
Also anyone knows if it has apple Carplay?

    I have attached 2 photos.
    Thanks.

I believe your car has sliding pin calipers. A relatively cheap next step would be to get a different mechanic to check that the sliding pins do slide and that the pads are not jamming in the pad carriers as mechanics don't always derust the carriers before fitting new pads.

Hi. Should i change this pin calipers or fix them? Car is only 5 yrs old 75000km(47k mls) on the clock.
Never ever in my life had such problems with any car

  21. 5 hours ago, Mr Vlad said:

Hi Andrew. This must be a very annoying issue and one which I find unbelievable on that car. I would advise taking your car to Lexus and get their opinion and get remedied. There must be an underlying issue which Lexus should sort.

I've never heard of such an issue or experienced it and I drive like a looney.

Was thinking about that, been talking to them last week when they did my service (oil, filters) and been told they should investigate the matter but for the begining i should thinking about startimg with changing the calipers which will cost me about 7-800 euros for 2 parts only. Thats mad

And how exactly 'warped' were the discs with these gauges?

Also apologies for the repeat, but what are the symptoms you were experiencing...

They were warped 1st and 2nd time from the measurements. 3rd time just i change them without any measurements.

symptoms: when i push the pedal bit by bit seems to be ok but when i push it harder and longer feels a bit shaking kind of or like pedal goes up and down a bit. Thats the feeling
