  1. I've just been looking at changing my 14 month old RX 300SE navigator, mint condition 9,218 miles on the clock (cost just a tad over 38k) for a 400h.

Best price the Lexus will give me is 18k as a trade in!

Think this will be my last Lexus, previous IS300 sportcross plummented as well, but not as much 50% when just over a year old - Looks like I'll be going Audi Q7 for next car as they offered 26k

I traded my July 04 Lex RX300SE no sat nav or ice with 19900 miles on it to a Ford dealer 4 months ago and got £19800, there taking the P me thinks

  2. Well, I've finally given up.

I have traded in my RX for a Mondeo ST Tdci. I can hear you laughing now but I don't care. It drives like a dream, goes round corners without falling over and best of all I can change gear without slipping a disc!

I fill it up at the garage and it says 520 miles to empty, not 320! No more driving like a vicar in the hope of getting 28 mpg.

I cannot believe how fast the RX is depreciating, the last two months 'glass's guide' have seen it drop £600 each month!!

I know I'll probably lose more on the Mondeo but at least I'll enjoy driving again.

Would just like to say thanks to the two Mikes (RxMike and M'ladys husband) for all there efforts in trying to get a nice car to drive properly and I sincerly hope that the "fix" works for you.

I will still drop in and see how your getting on,

    Thanks again and goodbye

    Roger

  3. I am about to buy a 2004 RX 300 SEL. Not test driven that particular car but not noticed the "lurch" in other RX's I have test driven. What should I be looking out for exactley? Does it effect every single single RX or just the unfortunate few?

PS Most of my driving is a short 5 mile commute in stop start traffic mixed in with weeking motorway trip of say 100 miles or so.

    Thanks.

If you never listen to me ever again PLEASE listen just this once, you MUST drive the car you are going to buy before you hand over any cash. The journey you do to commute each day will drive you nuts if your car lurches. To test, pull up to near stop like you would approaching a rounderbout but then before coming to a complete stop (about 2-8 mph) go back on the gas......wait for the thump in your back, the car has no idea what gear it should be in, it's horrible. Sorry to put a downer on your new car but I would NEVER EVER buy another one.

  4. I agree with everything above, a few of mine would be...

One speed women, they will do 40 down a side road with cars parked both sides having no idea weather a kid is about to run out in front of them and then continue to do 40 on a clear 60mph duel carriageway.

Anyone male who thinks it is a requirement to drive hunched over the steering wheel wearing a baseball cap thinking he looks 'bad!'

Ford Focus drivers, don't know what it is about them but 95% are morons, think they own the road, probably just gutted that their crappy job didn't entitle them to a Mondeo! (have a look next time your out).

People that block yellow box junctions/keep clear markings.

Women NEVER let you out of side roads, not even other women.

People who travel as far as they can down a closed lane and then cut into the queue at the last minute.

People who let the above people in!!!

  5. if you get refurbed wheels then they should last longer than if they put on new ones.

You only hear of problems on these forums, the majority of RXs have no problems.

sorry your wrong, the people on hear moan if they have a problem yes, but i bet there are hundreds more with the same problems that have them fixed and dont even know about this site!

  6. No we don't all hate Chelsea, yeh you've won it 5 times, all but one in the distant past, list all your trophies since the formation of the Premiership.....it won't take you long

Yes we do, you know it really :duh:

Liverpool have won quite a few since the prem was formed actually. Especially since the 2000's :winky:

And who said i was a liverpool fan anyway buddy boy

Sorry, I thought you were as you don't live in Liverpool, a bit like Man U fans don't live in Manchester!

  7. Me thinks the background colour on this thread needs to be changed to GREEN.

You want humour? I'll give you two, Liverpool winning the Champions League last year when they wern't even the best team in Liverpool and secondly P. Crouch playing for England!

    We all hate Chelsea :D

More humour for you pal, besides the belly ache of Liverpools 5 European Cups, is Chelseas none. Even after spending over 200 million to try and buy it  :ooh-ducky: ROFL... PMSL..LMAO etc etc

  9. report it .. and buy a cctv system

Buy a scary and dangerous dog, who has it's own little hut behind the lex.

Oh and forget to put a sign up saying "Beware of the Dog" :winky:

They will probably steal it, use it to pit fight. I know i have a bull terrier and when it was a pup some gypsies tried to steal it over the course of a couple of days(scruffy feckers went on the prowl for dogs). I realised this quick enough and caught the pair. I had a friend and they crawled back to their caravan site. If they cant steal it they will kill it.

A sign would help even if you dont want or have a dog.

The golf club is too cumbersome by the time you have swung that i would have fractured your face in sixteen places, get something smaller dude. Rounders bat or the such. ;)

Keep a jiffy squeezy lemon thingy handy. Fill it with ammonia if you dont have hydrochloric acid to hand. Very good if there are a few of the *****. Drop them to their knees faster than hooker giving a blow job and then torture them, use your imagination :winky:

Better than having mace as it carries the same penalties as a firearm (f*** knows why!!) in which case you may as well have a gun and at least put holes in theiving scum. :D

Yeah cctv is how sad our society has become that we need it to guard our property.

I should be paid for this valuable info hehe!

    Quality post, LMFAO

I love the way you censor your F word but don't bother with the C word!

  10. Yes I did, you added your link after you originally posted a reply and our posts crossed so to speak, you link doesn't answer the question about rude mods though does it?

i cant do anything about that unless a complaint is made

theres no need to make another post though is there

Ok, fair enough, I have no wish to complain about anybody, I just wanted to make the point which I have done, thank you for your input.

  11. so what does starting another topic acheive?

now look at this post....i made in that topic!

    LINK

What do you mean "what does it acheive"?

I have posted this in the "Lexus club lounge" a place for discussing things "Not Lexus or even car related"

I want someone to tell me what the criteria is for closing threads and why a moderator can post a curt, bordering on rude reply and then stop anyone else from posting.

If the moderators feel a thread should be closed then just close it, don't post your own little dig at the previous 51 posters and then close it.

Should we not start any new threads on here at all then?
