  1. I'm a little confused though since my issue is that I don't seem to have enough oil I obviously will need to put more oil in than what comes out, do i put more oil in straight away let it get warm then use the overflow plug or do I warm the oil up then use the overflow plug to add on the missing oil?
  2. Ah perfect thank you very much mate ill have a proper watch when I'm home from work. Fingers crossed its just the oil I bought too much of it anyway 🤞🏻.
  3. I'll be honest with you the gearbox was leaking oil through the gasket, I collected all the oil in a tub and all that came out when the pan and filter were removed was 2L of pitch black oil. From there I replaced what needed replacing and when filling the oil back up I used the over flow plug as a guide and the filling hole at the top right of the box. Afterwards I ran the car through its gears on a A road and repeated the process until oil came back out from the over flow plug which this time was browny black. Can you point me towards the correct way?
  4. Hi guys, So I recently bought a car with the p2757 code and after your suggestions I did a gearbox service replacing the filter, gasket, o-ring and doing a flush to get it started (all using genuine Lexus parts). The error code has gone away and so have the warning lights on the dash. Unfortunately now I have a new issue that at first started when at low revs driving uphill where the car is juddering lightly until it goes past 2k revs or switches gear (kind of juddering you find on a rough road, nothing violent but noticeable). The problem seems to also be there in cruise control on the motorway when the car is accelerating to stay at 70 but overall seems exclusive to low rpm accelerating. Can anyone give me some information or suggestions on what this could be? And possibly how a gearbox service could have caused this?
  5. Hey guys sorry for reviving an old friend but you've all been so helpful I thought it's better to ask here than start a new thread. I'm finally getting around to doing the gearbox service, I'm looking around to buy the filter for the gearbox and the gasket but I've noticed there are a few different options at different price points for "Lexus IS250" parts. Can someone explain and advise me on which kit to buy and maybe even suggest other websites to check?
  6. I've put a thousand miles on the car now, the problem still persists after wiping the code 3 times now although the last time it took a lot longer for the engine light to pop back up. I've also noticed the car drives absolutely fine while it's off but as soon as it comes back up the car when it's gearing up from a long pull foot fully down gets really jerky/twitchy changes which again doesn't happen until the code comes back on.
  7. Thank you sir, I've decided I will do exactly this and just replace the solenoid while doing the filter and oil change just to really make sure the problem goes away.
  8. I have watched a video by a woman called Faye I believe on how to do the oil change and saw that people recommended to do it 4 times. And no I don't have the rear window blind I believe that's another SE-L feature? Just like I thought the cooled seats were which to be honest now that I've used them they're OK. But the rest of the car is awesome, always wanted a Lexus since a child plus combine the fact that I've come from a Fiat Punto it's hard to not enjoy it. 😂
  9. Right that's good to know, I bought the car from London and I'm in Leeds plus being a 22 year old driver the deposit for insurance was 330 quid alone so if I return the car I'll be out about 500 quid which I don't really want to be. I bought a 100k mile 2007 SE for £4000 but it seems to have none SE features such as cooled seats (correct me if I'm wrong I thought it was a SE-L feature only) and has all the other stuff such as M&L speakers and sat nav with reverse camera so feels like a small bargain?
  10. Right, I might give it a go because honestly the gearbox feels completely fine there's no stutters, no gears are having issues with going in or leaving and the changes are still absolutely unnoticeable which is what makes the warning light more annoying.
  11. Hi guys, Just bought a 2007 IS250 automatic with 100k miles on it. Unfortunately on my drive back the engine light came on and a check VSC message. After checking with a Snap-on diagnostic tool the P2757 code came up. I've spoke to two gearbox specialists and they both suggested that I get a new gearbox and have it fitted. Now I also know two mechanics and they both suggested I change the oil in the gearbox and that it might fix the issue. Was wondering what everyone's opinions on this are as I don't want to spend 2-3 thousand on a car I just bought so I might just give it back and get my money. But preferably I'd keep the car as I've kinda fallen in love with it. Anyone know if a gearbox service is likely to fix the issue?
