It depends on your mileage.
I've always found that Michelin tyres get more road miles than any other tyre, so although generally the more expensive, the pence per mile is the lowest.
However if you do a low annual mileage, you can find that you are replacing tyres due to age rather than wear, and then Michelin tyres may be not so cost effective.

I can only use BP fuels (company fuel card) and I try to use BP ultimate where possible, however the additional cost swings massively across fuel stations.
It can swing from an additional 8p a litre, to an additional 20p+ a litre. Where as they are similar with regular E10, with super its more a case of what they can get away with!!
I do have to pay the premium cost through my p11d so it is not free unfortunately.

Yes welcome, there is another white one in Southsea I've seen a few times now but he obviously isn't a member on here.
Good to see that the car is fitted with a Quicksilver already makes a world of difference and makes the car sound so nice on start up, my neighbours even like the sound of mine and can hear it although it's not a close distance away.
Sainsbury's in Waterlooville do Super Unleaded E5 for a reasonable price (you'll probably be a regular visitor)
Is super a necessary requirement over regular premium E10?

For sale now at Lexus Woodford.
What's the story?

Brilliant thanks 🙂

Can't really tell from photographs but does the rear seat centre armrest have a small hatch through to the rear boot, or is it solid? Thanks.

I usually find that wear is often covered up with dye solution. This initially looks great but wears away much faster than the original finish.
This is probably why you have seen such quick wear in only 6 months.

It's funny how people use their cars.
I'm looking at a RCF as a daily so +10k a year.
I just wouldn't consider one as a weekend car.

Try and get a new one. Dealers are now quoting May / June for delivery, unless you can find a cancelled order.
There are people out there willing to pay the premium to have the latest "it" car, at the end of the day you pay your money..........
They are fantastic though, the hype around them is justified, epic epic little car.
I was keen on the GR Yaris 6 months before the first deliveries and it was a case of the local dealer saying to me that I was the first to enquire about it!
In the end was too compromised as a daily for me.
There are a lot for sale secondhand. Not sure of owners buying hoping to make a quick flip, or the initial fun has fizzled out...
Certainly the market is good to buy a new car, with inflated px values, if you can actually buy a new car with sensible delivery times!
The problem I have is that my interest in a RCF has been since the overall used car price increases, and I'm not sure whether the '15/'16 plate cars for sale are realistically priced or inflated due to the market, compared to say 6 months ago.
My present `17 plate daily, a BMW M140i, is worth more today than over two years ago before the pandemic, with over twice the mileage.

The valuations make sense around the £40k retail mark with approx £5k uplift, but those being retailed in the early to mid £30k come back with a £12k uplift!
-
Most RCF's for sale in the £30k+ price band '15' 16 plate return a WBAC type valuation in the early £20k+
To me this indicates the retail prices are overpriced.
With higher than normal WBAC type valuations, this is even stranger.
I can understand say a +£5k for prep/warranty/profit, but isn't £10k taking the ***** somewhat?
I'm sure if you come to trade in in the future the dealer won't want to pay more than a WBAC type valuation.

Oh and don’t forget the running costs. Tyres are PS4s, apparently last 20-40k depending on how you drive. Brake pads, usually 100k plus because of the regen braking. Other than that, change the pollen filter occasionally and the brake fluid every 2 years. So it’s a lot cheaper to run, - fully comp on a new Tesla was 60% of the cost for a 6 yr old rcf. So add in approx £7 for about 320 miles charging at home and the savings are substantial. Given what I sold the rcf for I’m covering the cost to change to a new Tesla in < 3 yrs. obviously there is still depreciation to consider, however, have you looked at the prices of 2nd hand model 3s?
All true, but very boring.

As per title I'm thinking of buying an RCF, It's a 2015 model, blue with light interior, it's done around 65,000 miles and is priced at around £28,000 at a Lexus dealer.
My questions are,
Is that a good price for the year and mileage adjusting for the fact it is for sale at a main dealer?
Is now the right time to buy with the market being as it is, I suppose that ties into the first question but would it be wise to wait and see if the market adjusts in my favour?
I'm trying to be objective but obviously it's an amazing car and one I have always wanted.
Are we talking Lexus Sheffield?
Saw this come up for sale and not far away from me, so called in.
At that stage when I called it was parked outside the dealership on the access road. Obviously unprepped.
A quick walk around every alloy was heavily curbed and the drivers seat bolster heavily worn peering through the window. Looked tired and uncared for.
Didn't even bother to walk into the dealership.
Since then I've noticed it been listed and reserved several times. I assume potential owners have been keen, seen it, and then changed their minds.
Still no actual pictures of the car, after a couple of weeks.

Don't think you will be able to get a Lexus warranty if more than 10 years old and/or 100k.

It's gone up again, now over £40k

It is not the one that was for sale at Lexus Hatfield?

Is it too late to purchase a 15 or 16 plate car at around 30 grand now?
The prices won't hold and calapse in a year or two buying today?
Sellers market like a lot of used cars at the moment, and not a buyers market?

At launch you have Toyota press / Toyota GB staff vehicles and many of the dealers purchasing demonstrators so the vast majority of registrations occurred in 2015.
Yes I can see that, but the following years like only a dozen a year being sold, nothing really!
-
I think I have my own answer.
Looking at 'how many left' by the end of 2015, 154 where taxed.
However in 2020, was a peak of 214 cars taxed.
So in 5 years after the launch in 2015, they simply didn't sell many!!
How come?

High road tax is unfortunate, especially as many are pre '17, and a lot are '15. I understand there are many '15 being the launch year as dealers had to take stock for showroom, whereas later years was to order.
Also the 10 year relax warranty is quickly running out for all the '15 plate cars too if they are serviced with Lexus.
So next year you have a double wammy, high road tax and no Lexus warranty.
I suspect values might fall for those cars effected.
