I can't even get my remote climate to work at the moment... Actually, tell a lie. I've managed to get it working twice this month. 😕 Here's just a brief selection of timed-out attempts:

    IMG_2605(002).thumb.PNG.5bb83e3ae628a7434376bffd88179843.PNGIMG_2606(002).thumb.PNG.7ed4d1422037e62c9c50ac1dc3a2bfe5.PNG

It used to sporadically work before, but seems to be properly broken now... Logging out and back in doesn't make any difference.

Occasionally, the screen in the car does come up with that 'Driver Profile' message but it doesn't seem to make any difference to whether I can get the remote climate to work or not.

    Ha, I feel your pain.

The only remote functionality I have is for the hazard lights, error message for everything else.

It has been like this for months. Lexus tech support advised failure to communicate with car and recommended change out of DCM. I had this done a couple of months ago and it made not the slightest difference! 🤬

I had raised a couple of issues with Lexus customer services since the release of this app and have exchanged several emails..  Today I received this email

    Thank you for contacting us.

Just recently we have encountered a number of issues relating to the connected car functionality and our application ‘app’. We are aware of various issues, some of which we know to be a direct result of some recent system changes and the migration of the app to a new platform. While we remain sure of the longer term benefits of this migration, at this moment in time, users might expect some functionality issues where we have no immediate fix.

It appears your enquiry relates directly to this matter. Please rest assured we are doing all we can to get to the bottom of these issues but in the meantime we are not able to offer immediate advice or a corrective course of action. We are working towards resolving all current issues.

In the meantime, should you choose to remove and reinstall the app and restart the connection process to your vehicle, this will have no detrimental effect. Once we are confident the corrective measures have been made, we will advise all our Centres who can then support and advise you as necessary. If still required, support will be available in the new year from your local Centre.

We are sorry for any inconvenience or disruption as a result of this temporary problem and hope this won’t impact greatly on your overall satisfaction with us

I guess you’ve got to applaud the honesty in that reply. However, I don’t think it’s good enough, by a long way.

A company with a reputation like Lexus needs to be throwing all manner of resources at this problem to resolve it sooner!

My car is 20 months old and I have had issues with the app and connectivity from day 1. I don’t want to hear them say we’re working on it. I want them to be telling me we’ve fixed it.

I’ve got the latest version on my iPhone couple of days ago, now I’ve got no trip history after mid August. All else seems ok other than remote locking still does not work.

My car is going in to dealer next week for the charging recall and a change out of the DCM, so no doubt it’ll be be back to square one after that 😊

    So……….

DCM change out done and trip data now current but missing between trips between mid August and now.

The new DCM did not fix the remote functionality issue. Now, I not only can’t lock/unlock, but I also can’t activate climate control remotely. Bizarrely, I can switch the warning lights on though.

Dealer has reopened the case with Toyota Europe tech support team.

TBH it’s all getting pretty tiresome, my car is now 20 months old and still not operating as per spec!

There is normally a requirement to have a “smart” meter too.

Having now retired from working in the power distribution industry I haven’t kept up with domestic tariffs but understand the two rate (E7 and E10) tariffs have gone.

Most suppliers seem to be offering only 5 or 6 hours of early morning “cheap” rate at around 8p/KWh but with the average 7.5 KWh charger will that provide enough charge for your required mileage.

I would also imagine the daily rip off standing charge would also increase with EV tariffs as E7/E10 tariffs did.

When I began my career normal rate was 4.1p per KWh and cheap rate was 1.9p per KWh most of which came from coal fired power stations.

E10 is not quite gone yet. I am on it and use my off peak tariffs by scheduling my heavy users to take advantage.

OVO keep asking if I want to change, but since it is an ‘evergreen’ tariff i just decline.

I asked this a while ago and, IIRC, the answer was that you can't, you have to cancel it from the car. I don't remember doing this but I do recall that at some point (for either this or another issue) that I deleted the app and reloaded it. I'm very careful now so I haven't had to repeat the exercise. Thinking about it now, is there a 'Charge now' option when a scheduled charge is set? If so, you could try choosing this, cancelling it once it starts and then setting a new schedule.

Thanks. I can’t see a charge now option, so I guess it’ll have to be done in the car.
The app is absolute garbage. I’ve now lost remote charging, switching car on and off made no difference..This is as well as no remote locking function. 😡

I was having the same issue with locking along with errors regarding journeys, date, location etc. Got an over the air fix which has addressed most of the problems (albeit the odd journey is missed) and car certainly locks/unlocks again.

Ken, I had the same update last month. Mileage, trip records and fuel status all started updating. Unfortunately, remote locking and “door not closed” notification still an issue. I’ve not had the XXG78 update yet. Who knows why?

Hopefully, resolution is in the offing.

So I had a near 300 mile round trip to my dealer yesterday to get fuel flap repair. I had also told them I wanted them to perform y code registration that Toyota Europe advised a month ago as a possible fix for the broken remote locking. Checking car in at the dealers, I was told nobody there knew what it was or how to do it. 🤬. Why, oh why didn’t they tell me that earlier and I could have postponed my visit until such time they were prepared.

In the last week or so I’ve noticed some bubbling on the infotainment screen getting worse. I mentioned this yesterday and asked them to check it out. Apparently the protective film had been forgotten to be removed at PDI.

    I am not impressed.

I’ve just had an email from Lexus after sales manager wrt no remote locking function from the app.

The digital support team in Europe have concluded after 4 months that the module isn’t communicating properly. The fix apparently is to replace the module and complete the Y code registration.

I guess I should be thankful that progress is being made, but at a glacial pace! My car is now nearly 18 months old!

The only thing that comes to mind is did you turn off A/C before you stopped the car last time? What did it show on the car display when you started it?

No. There has been no change to any of the car settings. The recorded 46 gave 32 actual on dual carriage way driving.

During charging the app shows the usual with or without A/c figures. But on completion of charging it reverts to the single figure??

  9. I’ve received the letter today for the XGG95 recall. I was at my dealer last week for fuel flap fix and was told that they’d taken care of recall for forward looking radar; which sounds like it may actually be XGG95.
Lexus Link maintenance doesn’t show this as having been done, but it does show the fuel flap, and given the issues with the app, I’m inclined not to trust it too much.

I could call up dealer, but tbh I’m feeling a bit let down by them and have lost confidence in them.

Does anyone know of an online resource or database (Lexus or Toyota) that I could look up to check the actual status to help me decide what I want to do.

    thanks

Strange that they didn't do the DCM update. I believe that it had initially been suspended due to some issues which resulted in a few cars that  couldn't be driven and requiring new DCM units to be installed. These units were subsequently in short supply and a decision was therefore made to suspend the update until a stock  became available again. I also hear that there are a further couple of recalls imminent.☹️

Who would know why they didn’t do the DCM one. It’s hard to tell what’s been done since the service history is so poor.
Im less concerned about the recalls, at least that’s them fixing or improving things and tbh, I did sort if expect it with a new model.

I am far from happy about the Lexus Link issues though. No one appears to have ownership of it. I feel very let down by the dealer, who give the impression that it is outwith their scope.

Very disappointing Alexander. I am awaiting an update on my Lexus Link issues. Have given them until tomorrow but I am not hopeful. I am told by an industry source that its an easy fix but don't know why Lexus aren't able to do this. Their reputation is being trashed by these issues.

Did they carry out the DCM update yesterday?

No, they didn’t do the DCM update. They did mention that the forward looking radar software update was outstanding and they did confirm they took care of that.
