  1. So, quick update: Mechanic checked it yesterday whilst doing the service and it's bad news as due to corrosion, both ends of the exhaust are in bad shape and will need to be replaced. Can you recommend any shop near London that could attempt to repair or alternatively replace the pipes? They suggested one called Fast Line Styling in Romford, have any of you dealt with them? Thanks.
  2. Thank you all for your suggestions. I guess i will have to book it with the mechanic, will let you know the outcome and cost. Not really, no improvement in fuel or anything else, to be honest i believe it has actually caused this issue that i am having as it started when the product was in the fuel tank.
  3. Hello everyone Based on the video, does anyone know what this could be? Or what is the part name or wether it could be welded back? Funnily enough it started after using Cataclean, i am thinking that gap was perhaps sealed with carbon and by using the product it dissolved the carbon and the exhaust fumes started leaking, does that make any sense? Thanks 20221217_094159.mp4
  4. Yes I've been busy but that's not excuse, the true is that i forgot, i come to this forum for help so it's just fair that i also update my posts, was reminded by @Texas to do so
  5. Thanks for the video @Texas but i just had it done this morning and just picked up the car, noise is now gone £300 after
  6. Apologies for not updating this before, the noise was resolved by replacing a exhaust shield clamp.
  7. Just got it diagnosed by to different garages as a faulty water pump, they are asking between £300-£400 to replace it (London prices..) This video also confirms it: @Texas yes, the noise under the car was resolved by replacing an exhaust shield clamp, apologies for not updating the post, will do that now
  8. Hi everyone I've noticed a weird noise coming from the engine bay, the car is running perfectly fine without any warning light. Does anyone know or have an idea or what could be the issue? Thanks in advance. 776282189_Lexusenginebayweirsound.mp4
  9. What car model would this diffuser fit into? The regular IS250 or the ISF mk3?
  10. Bringing the car to Halfords Woolwich was a mistake, and not a cheap one as it was £175. The fact that you have to leave the car all day and you cannot see them working on it is worrying, i should also have asked them to show me the replaced parts. Wasn't aware Lexus cost £185, will definitely consider them as an option in the near future. Sure i will monitor the situation for now and only use Castrol MAGNATEC Stop-Start 5W-30 A5 or similar. Paperwork they gave me shows 6.3 not sure if liters or qt and i believe the IS250 2WD without filter takes 6.2qt or 5.9 L
  11. Thanks for the detailed explanation Linas. Unfortunately it didn't come with any service history, yes I know not an ideal decision and it had 1 owner. The oil/filter change was done by Halfords as part of an interim check, again probably not an smart idea but at the time I didn't know any local garage. The paperwork they gave me claims they added 6.3 liters of Xtech synthetic oil and they did not find any issues in the car, the suggested replacing spark plugs and cabin filter following Lexus maintenance schedule, I replaced the filter but haven't replaced the spark plug as it was a bit too complex for me. My plan is doing oil/filter change at 3000 miles or 6 months as I drive mainly in London and probably you know how the traffic is in here. I have it booked to be checked on the 4th of Jan to see if I am missing anything as I've now found a what seems to be good independent garage, will see if they suggest adding thicker oil.
  12. Hi everyone I've noticed the Low Oil warning 1360 miles after doing the oil/filter change. The car has 112805 miles and it has taken about 2 liters of oil. Checking the manual it claims that 1.1qt/600 miles is acceptable yet it's a bit concerning. No obvious leaks have been observed, the car runs perfectly fine. I've spoken with a garage and they've said if the car is running fine it could be reasonable that is using such an amount of oil, they've suggested using STP Synthetic Oil Treatment as a solution to reduce the amount of oil consumed. After watching this video from Scotty Kilmer he advises against using this products on car with Variable Valve Timing which i believe our Lexus has therefore i am unsure what would you guys suggest or do? Thanks in advance.
  13. It seems that you're right as it's very similar to the one in this video, i'll bring to the garage so they can check it out, fingers crossed.
  14. Just noticed a grinding noise coming under the car when starting the engine, does anyone know what could this be? Thanks in advance. 20211201_100206.mp4 20211201_100206.mp4
  15. Another member of the forum has done it for me adding one resistor to each break light harness
  16. no worries, i've noticed sometimes mine doesn't fully open, not sure if it's due to the temperature or what Is you boot opening every time when you press the controller?
  17. Did you fit the ones i put in the link? If not, which ones? If it's closing fine for you, i might install both to avoid this issues they're mentioning.
  18. That is true, still one day i might pop in to visit the city and see how it sounds :)
  19. Thanks for the detailed response. I think I will then save for the HKS. The catalytic converter cannot be welded back? I don't think I'll be able to replace it myself as I don't have anything to put the car in the air, would you be able to help me? Happy to agree on a price and go to your area.
  20. Supplier replied saying i need to add one 50W 6 ohm resistor on each brake light harness.
  21. They didn't come with resistors. I've messaged the seller but even if they send them it'll take a month and i don't fancy driving in the rain without any stability control or having to fit the old ones again. Is it a straight forward job for a mechanic to do? As i am not confident with the electrics of the car
  22. I got the message "check VSC" after installing this lights together with red break system, yellow ABS and yellow slip indicator lights. Speaking to another member of the forum, he said it's likely an error on brake circuit related to the current draw detection as result of the low resistance of the LED compared to the OEM lights which makes sense and he suggested that a possible solution will be adding a resistor. Has anyone got any suggestions or advise? Thanks
