Although I only 🙄 had to wait for 12 months, I know what you mean.

It should be "special" buying a brand new car but not sure I would want to do it again 🙈🙈

Echo this - waited 14 months - ending with deceptive practice from the dealer trying to fob me off by changing interest rate supposedly locked in at 3.8% to 11.9%. I smiled and paid cash. The look on their faces, I will never forget. Love the car but lost all trust in Lexus dealers.

I cancelled the appointment with Lexus to have their dash cam as they told me it doesn’t have parking mode. They literally selling dash cam models 2020 in 2024. Found an independent in car technology ltd specialised in cams and things like that to install Nextbase new model that has intelligent parking mode.

Sounds like a dealer specific issue. My 350H nextbase front and back dashcam was installed by Lexus Dealer in Nov 2022 and it has Intelligent parking mode, which you activate on your nextbase app. I guess 2020 may be current in 2022 but not in vogue in 2024.

    Hi Folks

I’ve just had a letter purportedly from DVLA inviting me to renew my vehicle tax at £560. I  nearly fell off my rocking chair….this is a lot more than my old Nx300.

Is there some mistake here? I’d appreciate your advice.

    Many thanks

    Andy.

I did fall off when mine came through last October. Never paid that much on car tax prior to NX.

    No problem @Starlight

    Here you go:-

You'll notice that most of the settings are pretty much Default or Disabled - this is because I have "Passthrough" set to "Enabled".

The only setting that I have changed is under the "Wi-Fi Settings" option where I have changed the "Wi-Fi Channel" to 165. This was to prevent the device from "dropping out" whenever I passed a particular place on my commute (likely due to interference from mobile phone masts at that location).

    Hope this helps.

Thanks Andy, tried the setting above and it seems to work. Hope it stays the same tomorrow on my daily commute.

My AAWireless dongle has been pretty much faultless since the day I purchased it nearly 3 years ago - and with multiple Samsung phones over that time (S10+; S20 FE and now a S21 Ultra). Connects (very quickly) every time and there is no lag with music streaming or navigation using Google Maps.

@Starlight have you tried using the "Enable Passthrough" option for the device via the companion App's settings? This places the device into it's most basic, vanilla, configuration (so you will lose some of the extra functionality such as changing the screen DPI for example) but I find it works best for me as there is less margin for error. Give this a try if you haven't already. Failing that, feel free to DM me and I will be happy to send you a screenshot of my whole device settings so you can try to mirror these on yours.

Thanks Andy, downloaded the app and working on it. Still learning. Would really appreciate if you could screenshot your device setting. That would really help.

  6. Weird experience. Left work, approached car and touch the handle as usual to open and no response. Pressed Key fob and no response. Panic set in. YouTube to the rescue. Used manual Key, insert and turn, all alarm went off. Second panic. Door won't budge. Managed to get in and start car. Alarm stopped. Drove home. Turn off the car and closed the door. Pressed Key fob, car locked. Pressed again and doors opened. Now very worried whether this will be a routine occurrence. Car just had its first service a couple of days ago.

  7. Got the AA wireless but not sure whether I had it set wrong for these reasons;

    1. Rarely connects automatically and having to constantly fiddle with phone and car Bluetooth settings in the morning or on restarting the car to connect.

    2. Connection often drops while using Waze Nav on the drive which is a driving risk

    3. Not sure whether this is down to Samsung Note 20 that I use.

For those who use AA WIRELESS please any ideas the best car setting to connect wireless.

On the other hand saw below re. 10,000 UK Land rover vehicles out of service due to parts and repairs, so cannot complain much.

As far as I know, most of the staff were replaced. The lead technician is Andy and so far, has been very considerate. The service/booking team is the weakest link so far but if you get past them, the rest, I have found no reason to complain, yet.

Recently, I had a nail puncture in one of my tyres. Being run flat and having tyre and wheel cover, I called the service/booking team and the lovely lady I got on the phone gave me an appointment in three weeks time and just could not understand how unreasonable she sounded, asking me if I can pump the tyre. But on firm education of running a flat tyre for 3 weeks, I was put through Andy who got me in on the same day and tyre sorted.

I'm afraid I get shocking service, they don't like me as i reported to the chief executive of continual bad service all round and upset everyone with staff leaving

that was a good thing at the time and have not been back yet as the manger and service manager still remain in place. If i won't a quiet life, i'd send them all home

Tim, the lead in the servicing of the cars thou is very good and I guess you dealt with him

Very interesting and glad to hear your positive experience Justin, just out of interest which dealer was it that provided such great service?

I'm asking because I see your location as Surrey and your dealer might be within my reach, and I know I'd rather travel a little bit further for a good dealer!

    Many thanks!

Very interested to hear that after your last dealer visit , now no squeaks or creaks.

Can you enlighten on....what complaint you reported to the dealer on the visit and..... what they did to resolve the problem.

Looks like you have a excellent Lexus dealer who go the extra mile

Thanks David, the complaint were loud unsettling squeaks coming from underneath the car when over bumps or potholes. Sorted by replacing OSF suspension top mount. No squeaking at all. I also complained about increasingly groaning noise when you come to a stop or take your foot off the brakes to inch forward, worse going downhill or on a straight and unnoticeable going up an incline. Not sure how they resolved that but noticed on return that my car seat settings were all adjusted. I rarely hear it anymore but occasionally when parked up an incline slowly inching down. They also carried out a DCM software update but has not noticed anything different before and after.
