Hi
I have an IS300h and have obtained an OE Lexus roof rack for the previous model (2007-2015 IS220/250). It is brand new and unused.
The question is will it fit my IS, please?
-
maybe we will have inductive charging system one day where you can drive over a charging plate
We could take bets on which happens first. This ^ or hydrogen powered cars
This is coming soon as the systems are already in development. We are also developing self-alignment so the car will proition itself accurately over the plate. 3-4 years away...

Yes I do mixed driving and get about 32mpg. This means about 320 miles to the light after which you've got another 30 odd to 0miles on the trip and a further 30 odd miles to nearly empty.
On a longer run you'll easily get 400 miles from a tank.

mpg miles gal l cost/l cost/£
32 15000 469 2128 1.32 2809
38.5 15000 390 1768 1.40 2476
about £300 per year. I concur with Normski2 and have had exactly the same experience and mpg with the two cars. When people say I have to have a diesel because I do XXXX miles per year I do wonder if they've worked it out. The depreciation on a car is going to be of the order of 10x this value...

I have gone from an SE-L to and Advance and I can honestly maange without the seat cooling, seat memory, sunblind and lovely scuff plates but I DO miss that dipping mirror! It was great for getting reall near a kerb without scuffing the alloys...

Could it be a bad earth from the Battery? I had to get the earth lead changed on my 2006 IS last year because of this.

or an Advance.

I've got some snake oil you can buy too.

Can i change from 16inch alloys to 18 inch alloys, without damaging the car?
Yes, and you can swap with me for my 18" Baransus if you wish.

Hi
Mine is the same too 220D. My VSC light came on laso, 'Check VSC' in the middle of a journey. Turned the car off and on again and never seen it since - car has done 69K on a 06 plate.
-
I'm afraid this stupid bloody airbag light is a very specific requirement of EuroNCAP. You get 3 extra points for this and as everyone wants 5 star child protection they are starting to have to comply.
None of the car manufacturers think it is good.

Hi All,
I was just driving when this light came on my dash alogn with a yellow engine light and the traction control light.I lost major power and couldnt go over 2000 rpm. Switching the engine off and back on fixed the issue but the lights remain, has anyone experienced this problem before?
Thanks In Advance
Kenneth
It's a well known problem - mine did it too. Dealer will fix this under recall/warranty.

I was looking to get this too. I was wanting to ask those of you who have this, is the quality just as good as CD. I found with having my ipod plugged via the AUX the sound was a little lower and not as clear, however if the same tracks were put on CD it was much more clear and louder.
So any info regarding quality would be much appreciated and whether it is really worth it??
Thanks guys
Gary - see pm send me an e-mail.
the quality is better than the aux socket - just like any ipod connection - quality is better off the bottom plug than out the top. It's a good as an mp3 CD, nowhere near as good as 'proper' CD.

I'm sorry if I've misunderstood, but you have three of the original silver alloys on the car, they've replaced one of them with the newer smoked grey alloys, and now they're asking for proof that the colour has changed?
Is everyone at the dealership blind? That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, they should replace the whole set if you can't get the silver ones anymore...........I'm totally speechless, it's just so unbelievable!
:o they must be blind or p :tsktsk: d    so much it hurts
Yep!

Hey guys as many of you know Lexus has recently changed their 18 inch oem wheels from silver to dark gunmetal starting from late 2007.
Whats your opnion on this? I was thinking of changing mine to the gunmetal ones and just want some opnions before I go ahead. I have an IS220d Sport, so my oem ones would be for sale if I was to get the new gun metal ones. Wheels only would be for sale. Thanks.
Hi
well I have 3 silver ones and one gunmetal one (as Lexus Brum changed one for me under warranty) Trouble is they say there aren't two different colours so I must be wrong. Can you point me to somewhere that will deomnstrate to them they've changed from silver to dark gunmetal starting from late 2007? Any help, much apreciated.
cheers
Stuart

Well, Lexus Birmingham have fixed my problem by fitting a different module (?) so now I get the playlist, track names and track list as Scott's.
I am pleased!
-
Any anecdotes on the software? Dealerships seem to shrug their shoulders when you mention software problems!
Here is a pic of my screen to compare with Scott's. No playlist name and no track names! this makes it next to useless.
I've now tried it with a new 4th Gen ipod as well and it is the same problem.
-
Hi All,
Had mine fitted today, it as described by previous posters, only displays playlist name and current track (no artist/album name). I've attached some pics for those interested. You can shuffle through a playlist, select from 1-6 playlists, steering wheel controls advance previous/next through the current play list.
I have also tested it with my iPhone and it works great, so should work with the touch.

I have a Lexus ipod integration kit fitted too. However mine does not have the track list button, nor the name of the track. I've downloaded the latest apple software on my 3rd gen 30gB ipod and it is all up to date.
Can you confirm theat yours is the lexus std kit and what ipod have you got?
Does anyone else have this issue (Is just the 'CD' playlist numbers and no track/playlist names?

Guys, just bought a 2001 IS200 sport, yet im having problems with the Cd player (not the usual "wont play CD's trick either!")
i can play, load and eject disks no worries (even home made ones) but the sounds just from speaker to speaker, and if, say, i take a fast left hand turn, the music will be thrown to the front left speaker (kind of where the G force is going!!)
Its very odd, and only does it with the CD, not radio! any ideas!?
Mine too. No solution so far....
-
MY IS300 has no/intermittent left channel when playing any CD, but plays through both left and right speakers no problem using either the radio (inc ipod connection through aerial jack) or the tape deck.
I asked about it on here but no solution to date. suggests a failure between the CD and the rest of the stereo but there is nothing external I can find.
So I'd check all input your sources first before you accuse the speakers or speaker connectors, just in case.

Does anyone on here know the whereabouts of the real Car used by Steve Coogan for the 2002 alan Partridge series?
It's a Stracarron Blue IS300 (like mine - which is still for sale!)
Stills show the registration GU51 YXJ which I suspect is a real registration number. (they used to use fake ones once upon a time for TV series)

I'm looking to take my HGV Cat 2 lessons and test early nest year ive come accross so may companies with varied prices mostly all offer 5 day training, anyone out there on the road got any experiance of training company's any input and advise would be much appreciated its a lot of money to spend i want to make sure i get it right first time.
Thanks
I did mine with J Coates and I'd recommend them but they may not be too near to you?
Don't bother with the packages that promise a pass in a certain time. Instead have an assessment with at least two places (about £25), this means you get two opinions on how many days you'll need and you can assess their professionalism etc.
Ask what their pass rate it (overall is about 35-40%)
Ask for a discount.
Cheers

I used to drive in Sport mode a lot because I prefer the steering feel. That got me 42 mpg. I've converted to Eco mode and now get 50mpg. it's a bit sluggish when accelerating esp up a hill but otherwise driving gently is better.
Wish I could change the steering separately though.
