  1. Thanks all, that's really useful. I know they are quite reliable cars but the hybrid system and active suspension adds complexity.. As long as there are parts available, I think it's reasonable for a luxury car anyway. 2 more questions, are OEM shocks still reasonably priced? what is the non-OEM option? And I have an issue with the boot space, where could I find a roofbox for it please?? PS. @serbarry I hope it goes well, how is the car running at >188K? were there lots of major repairs to get it to this mileage ?
  2. Hi all, I consider buying a 2007-2008 GS450h and looking below 80K miles.. What are the main things to look out for? Are there known issues with these models? And realising it's an older car, is it still a relevant purchase today? are parts still available? Thanks in advance!
  3. Looking at the large screen navigation options for the MK3 GS 450h which on Aliexpress are referred to as 'Tesla style' 🤨 Has anyone installed one of these? Mainly looking at these 2 variants https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002476286695.html https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001666914650.html Wouldn't get anything with less than 4GB RAM and someone mentioned that the OEM rear view camera can be connected too (signal wires have to be soldered but should be straight forward). However got a few questions: - Do these come with any apps that can still display the Energy Monitor info and Park Assist (front/rear sensors)? - I'm not clear about the amplifier output: does the OEM head unit have a built-in Amplifier? Or is just sending pre-amp audio signal to the dedicated Mark Levinson amplifier in the back? If that's the case the Chinese navs would come with Preamp Out only or are they meant to bypass the ML amplifier in the booth, connecting the car speakers to some poor-quality built-in amp?
  4. Thanks John, noticed that Toyotec is missing from the list? Are they not recommended? Toyotec http://www.toyotec.co.uk/ Unit 1, Astra Business Centre, Bonehurst Road, Salfords, Redhill, Surrey RH1 5TL Tel; 07833 223205
  5. That's super useful, thanks for sharing this - looks like there is Toyotatech in Guildford and Toyotec in Redhill. 👍
  6. Hi all, Could someone recommend a good Lexus specialist in Surrey (or within reasonable distance)? Recently got a GS450h (2009, 80K miles) and it has the P0017 code.. Also there seems to be a knocking coming from the front wheel/passenger side, had it checked at the nearest garage and they said joints/suspension looks fine however I thought it was checked rather superficially.
  7. I would be interested in this too, considering replacing mine (Mk3 GS450h) but unsure about the Mark Levinson amplifier connections and whether the android ones will still show the fuel/hybrid info or the parking assist function?
