Thanks for the reply mate, I do have an aftermarket stereo I was going to put in but didn't bother as my current factory stereo doesn't work. I'll give that a try.

Hi guys, I drive a 2001 GS300 and yesterday I turned the car on, all of a sudden a cloud of smoke poured from behind dash on passenger side. With a horrible smell of burning plastic. My stereo turns on but I have no sound at all. There's a blown fuse in the engine bay, which I tried to replace but blew instantly. I pulled the glove box and the whole centre console but there's no evidence of any wires that have contacted or tripped. I also pulled the passenger door card to check for dodgy wiring but found nothing. Is this a common problem or can anyone think of what it could be, apologies for the long read but I'm very stuck. Thankyou.

Hi guys, once I take out the old unit (tape deck) is it just plug and play with an adapter into the new sound unit? I plan to remove the cd changer in the glove box too for extra room in glove box Thanks

Ah yes I didnt even think of that, my first thought was an electrical issue. I'll give them a wipe to see if its that. Thanks

When I put the car into reverse, the sensors just do a long continuous beep. I don't know how far or close I am to what's behind. Anyone else had this issue or know a fix, thankyou
