  1. toughleads.co.uk have a lot of good information and options on their site. Depending on your reasons for wanting a spare, you might want to consider purchasing just the short piece from the plug to the CCID. I believe that the long part of the lead from the connector to the CCID is common throughout Europe; the short part allows for different plugs depending on the market, UK ,mainland Europe, etc.

  2. Highly unlikely but I have no definitive knowledge that allows me to state this.

Welcome to Lexus world. I hope you enjoy your new car as much as I enjoy mine.

  3. Make sure that the email address you are using is the same as Lexus have, otherwise they don't get linked correctly. IIRC, Lexus HQ have to trigger the system in the first instance. Don't get too excited by the App tracking, it is really a series of steps, in build, on boat, at docks, at dealer. It is not a moment by moment position of the boat and your car. However, your dealer can give you the name of the ship its on, then you can use one of the marine tracking apps (free ones are perfectly adequate) to monitor your ships track and position.

  4. I'm not impressed by any Lexus employee that doesn't know their product well enough to give confident, accurate advice on such matters. I bought a car in the States and the Sales Team had racks of VHS tapes (yes it was a while ago!) that they used for training every day. They knew their vehicles inside out.

I've not driven on the continent so I'll leave others to give a definitive answer. I agree that changing to km/hr will likely be useful in keeping to the speed limits but it's not going to affect the lights. More likely that the car will know where it is from its onboard GPS and make appropriate changes.

Personally... I Never use this App Now ..Just so Fed Up with the Whole Operational Problems ..They would have been much Better just leaving the app as it Was..!!! Don,t Even Think Lexus Know how to sort it..God knows they have had plenty of time..!!!!

I agree that the app is a very long way from being as useful as it could be but, accepting it's limitations, I still find it useful. Checking the range on electric is my most frequent reason for going to the app (I have a 450h+), closely followed by the trip data (I admit to being a bit OCD on this and record every journey). Both functions are reliable and reasonably accurate. I also use the app in winter for pre-heating the cabin. The other functions just sit there in the background and I rarely access them. I really wish I could plan my journey on my phone and find it ready to go when I get in the car but I wouldn't condemn the whole app just because I'm only using a few functions. Can you elaborate Ron on what's not working for you?

Lately I've been driving the car a lot in EV mode only, like some hundred miles, and the dashboards reads 5.9 kW/whatever is the unit although I've been able to reach almost 7 on some particular roads. This also driving very carefully and slow with a light foot, something that I wouldn't do in HV mode.

The 100% range is always 60-61 km or 37 miles without AC, I'm still unable to see the promised 70 km even with summer tires. Let's see if it gets better.

My September 2022 model is now up to 77km but this time last year it was around 70km, rising to 72km (peak of 73km) toward the end of summer. Car currently has 22,500km on the odometer. Seems it takes time for everything to get fully settled.

After LV saying they won’t renew my 2026 RX450h I have just renewed through Money Supermarket at Churchill for next month at £715. Thats with 9 years no claims and parked in the road outside my house so I am well pleased. Bizarrely I tried going to Churchill direct and it was £200 more.  I also tried Ageas but they wanted £1800 for the same cover.
There just seems to be no logic for the wide range of pricing out there.

When the comparison sites first appeared, I found myself hunting through all those small print pdf files to establish what, exactly, I'd be covered for. What I found was that the cover being offered on the comparison site was less comprehensive that the insurer's own direct website. Basically, to look competitive and appear in the top results, something had to give. Most people don't read the small print so they got away with it. I have no idea whether they operate in the same (underhand) way now but I have better things to do with my time than read all the small print so I no longer use the comparison sites. Maybe I'm losing out; maybe the companies behave more ethically these days; but then again, maybe pigs really do fly!

Another crazy, tunnel vision decision by LV insurance. My wife has a 19 year old Honda Jazz that she's insured with LV for as long as we can remember. Its value is so low, what's the likelihood of it being stolen? She received an email today as follows.       Thank you for choosing to insure your HONDA JAZZ SE AUTO with LV= over the past year. We’re writing to you to let you know that, unfortunately, we’ve had to make some changes to our underwriting approach for your vehicle type. Over the past year, there’s been a rise in thefts of the HONDA JAZZ SE AUTO. As a result, we’ve seen a large increase in the number and cost of claims we’ve received for these types of vehicles and have made the difficult decision to stop insuring them. This means at your next renewal date on 11 June 2024, we won’t be able to offer you a renewal price. We will send a letter confirming this again in advance of your renewal date, the letter will explain that this is due to a change in our underwriting criteria. Please rest assured this won’t class as your insurance being declined, cancelled or voided, and you won’t need to declare it to other insurers. We never want to leave our customers in the difficult situation of having to find cover. However, we feel that continuing to cover certain vehicles would create a greater overall detriment to our customers by increasing pricing overall.

It's not just cars. LV won't insure my house because I have oil central heating! They have become very picky lately; acting like a start-up that only wants low risk business. I won't use them for this reason but, in fairness, I have always been happy with their travel insurance.

  9. Hopefully all will be well now but do keep an eye on the communication icon. I found that I had to reconnect every trip until I did the reset. I didn't find it necessary to press the power button as you describe.

If you do need to go down the reset route, your journey data may not appear straight away. It did for me but it took a few days before it reliably appeared for a friend.

  10. My understanding is that, as you say, the traction Battery retains about 30% of its charge. There are good reasons for this but 30% does seem on the conservative side to me. I would prefer the app showed the percentage of usable charge; 100% when fully charged and 0% when there was no usable range left but it's not a big deal.

Same is true of the dash display; if I can't have/use the last 30%, then don't show it. True of the fuel tank too; if it's full to the top, I want to see all the bars in the green and for the number of bars to reduce proportionally until the tank is empty. Then I can be clear and know that if it gets to one remaining bar, I need to start looking for a petrol station. Toyota/Lexus conservatism is annoying here; as another thread has shown, owners have found that there is often still a significant amount of fuel left in reserve when the dash would have you believe that the car is in imminent danger of running out of fuel and being stranded.

Estimates on the dash display and the app cannot be calculated in the same way. My dash has been showing an EV range of between 71km and 73km for weeks now whereas the app has been gradually creeping up by 0.2 or so without a/c and 0.3 with a/c over the same period. However, to be honest, I just let the car get on with it; if the fuel looks low, I top it up, if the Battery needs charging, I charge it - a bit like the olden days before we had these fancy apps! I know that if I drive gently, I get more mpg or Battery miles, if I drive more aggressively my £ doesn't take me as far and I don't need an app (or a home smart meter) to tell me that.

I contacted Lexus and made the appointment for dashcam but they told me only front cam can be installed in NX 350h and they won’t install rear one as it interferes with Dab!!? Any suggestions pls? Should I cancel the appointment and try somewhere else than Lexus?

I've got front and rear cam's and not had any interference. I do recall a thread a year or so ago where some people did have a problem (if I've remembered correctly). That some have had a problem and others haven't could be because some took the wiring down the near-side and others took it down the off-side maybe.
