  1. It almost certainly is a flat as a pancake battery. Classic symptom. Clicking with no cranking. Colder weather as well.
  2. SteveGee, How did you get on with your with your change to LED bulbs? I changed to an mot testing station at the end of my road in the UK and was paranoid about my LED dipped beam and position bulbs. So was thinking the day before the test of swapping out LEDs for the halogens. I didn't and it sailed through no problems. I haven't done my high beams because the dipped LEDs are so good I rarely use them. The halogens were dangerous on my daily commute. It's not like you can use them with oncoming traffic. I could barely notice the halogens were on whilst driving.
  3. The acceleration is more savage in 1st and 2nd gear so jerkiness is more pronounced. I doubt it's a turbo problem but it could be a clogged up egr valve or dirty dpf. Have you cleaned the MAF sensor an easy job that's relates to what you have stated as well.
  4. You haven't stated if there was an improvement after the egr valve was blocked off. Was there an improvement? Like I said above my only problems were with not enough of a daily commute. Then my car went into limp mode twice with no fault codes on dash or obd reader. If your car is used for local journeys only you bought the wrong car ie the is220d. If maintenance is carried out as it should be and you do enough miles, spirited at times the is220d isn't the devil reborn as some state. Not the best but it's a lexus interior and shell. I love my car yes it's sounds like a tractor but a standard is250 won't leave it in its wake. I'm also aware that I would have bought an automatic is250 in decent nick if I had the opportunity but my budget wouldn't stretch.
  5. What is your car used for daily? What miles do you do? If local only you have your answer. This forum is a wealth of knowledge and nearly every problem encountered has been covered before. Just needs a bit of research. I have a is220d 2006 which I've owned for two years and only because my budget wouldn't stretch to an is250 manual at most. The only problems I had was when my daily commute was too local. Since a change of job and nearly 20,000 miles later not a problem traveling just 46 miles a day five days a week. My car is on over 160,000 miles. Has never let me down. Your problem could be one of many things including a MAF sensor that needs cleaning to a dpf that's partially blocked etc.
  6. Hi, I can't confirm it's compatability but what I will say is a 17/18 update disc will not be up to date. Yes compared to what is in our cars already but that's not hard. It's going to be at least five years out of date at best. The system is clunky anyway that's why most use other means to navigate such as map apps on their phones or upgraded head unit. Teyes, Grom etc. Best of luck with the update if compatible and maybe let us know how upto date it is for you.
  7. Yes it would be the same with Ford. Two wires with a temperature sensor sitting on top.
  8. I have replaced my position lamps with LEDs. I've never had any complaints from oncoming drivers regarding dazzling and because of 5am starts I use the headlights all year round. It passed the MOT here in the U.K. It looks a lot better with the white position lamps matching the headlight bulbs. Hope this helps. From one Steve to another. 🙂
