i have had the car one week now and am very impressed all round with it. The fine detail i would never have concerned myself with if it had not been through my initial new purchase of a Toyota corolla which was poor all-round from paintwork to odd clunks and bits missing like engine cover bonnet mat etc because that's how Toyota will be building in future, like it or lump it
I had to pay £10'000 extra for the Lexus, but for the money it's far superior to any Toyota at that price point in the fine detail department and the excellent drive despite some say the run flat tyres are noisy

i got Dunlop run flat on my new car made in Japan. So far, very good. i should add iv'e never had a problem with tyres made in Japan, but i'm not a heavy driver, so my view is not valid for long distance driving. Continental are by far the best if in doubt, so i am told

That's normal and is unnoticed, although i think in the TAKUMI there may be one?

I get this on my car sometimes and it’s usually when a passenger doesn’t ensure the seatbelt buckle is put back neatly and it chatters against the B pillar. Once I straighten the belt out, it’s all good again.
It's a pain, i know that. I guess i'm lucky at this time and the passenger belt go back in its correct space, but am sure at some point I'll need to lean across each time to correct it like iv'e always had to on my other cars

i should point out this doesn't apply to me at this time, but have noticed in all of my test drives of many cars it has happened on all of them. It's always on the passenger side only, never the back or the driver's side
as anyone had this annoyance and if so did you manage to fix it

You were lucky to get the Dunlop run flat tyres as most UX come with Bridgestone which are noisier and reputedly give a harder ride.
Your right roger, the UX and all the other types of models ES/NX etc in the showroom had all got Bridgestone on them

Congratulations Nick.
Ca we have some piccies please and a brief report on why you chose the Lexus over competing models.
Hi guys. i chose Lexus as the dealership is way superior to any other in my area Mercedes/Audi/ Range Rover BMW etc and hope that continues. The car itself so far is spot on, despite the infotainment system being the weakest link. It has Dunlop run flat tyres from Japan and has a sunroof and cream leather seating

It comes with a sunroof, which I didn't expect, and the colour the very rare TERRANE KHAKI- METALLIC. i had to pay thou the same price as the cancelled order of £36'000 so i guess without any wait time not too bad

From my 50 years as a motorist, the service you get will be down to the individual who is serving you. As a rule, head offices are very bad who know nothing, so you need to make sure the garage you purchase from will be decent. On the sales part always perfect, but on the aftersales type of things problems etc not so good, which is difficult to judge from the staff when you purchase.

i have just purchase the above, which was a customer cancellation. Are there any things i need to look out for?
thanks

Thanks for that fourbanks.
Tried the 0800 number (press 3 for quotes) and after waiting for about 15 minutes and enduring that dreadful music I gave up as if they take that long on a quote god knows how long it would be should you need them ?
The service is very poor and unlikely to get better

Maybe not as LV quoted me just shy of that.
Like you a clean license for decades, 8 years no claim’s, have other policy’s with them (non car) that attract a discount, ST16 post code, full comp, protected, legal add on.
I may try Toyota / Lexus myself as i never knew that was an option as “it may” be cheaper, do you have a link to them.

Hi All, just about to order an ES300h in sonic platinum, been offered £36,303 by dealer. Is that a good price? Delivery not until Feb next year though.
Thanks
The ES is around £40'000 now, so yes that's a great price

i have just purchased today my new ES UX premium edition for £36'000 as the order that was on it was cancelled
i think that price was reasonable with no wait time and hope to pick it up next week
