Thanks for the quick response, really helpful. The Monkey Bars look like they would do the job. I was a bit concerned about using suction cups, but if you've been using them for 7 years I guess they must work.

I almost purchased an RC 300h F-sport, but then couldn't find roof bars to carry canoe. Can you fit roof bars to the RC? Lexus dealership salesman said yes, but I'm not convinced at the moment.
