  1. That`s great thanks for your help.Graham. Thanks Bob. Will do many thanks,Graham.
  2. Good Afternoon all. My 2002 430 SC’s renovation is almost complete and all niggles rectified thanks to members help in some cases. The original plate pie wheels have been renovated and I am looking for just 6 of the screws/ bolts that hold the plate pie onto the wheel,a part number would be appreciated and any guidance with supply would be helpful.(coincidentally we are having plate pie for tea tonight, you can tell we are from the North!) In addition on the driver’s side at the rear of the seat the leather panel has come loose any guidance please on the plastic holding clips again with part number and potential supply. Thanks once again for your help. Graham Wilkinson.
  3. Thanks again again Neil. I will be seeing the auto electrician on Wednesday as he will be fitting new reversing colour coded reversing sensors. Will have a chat about the amp thank you.I paid only 25 quid as a first stab to the issue re the amp.Once again thank you so much for you invaluable help.Have a great weekend.graham.
  4. Neil just been out to the car, you’re a bloody star played around with the steering wheel controls and bang lovely sounds coming through. Music is my life,I am so. Grateful. Thanks and best wishes to all who have responded.
  5. Neil and Glyn Wow what a response thank you so much.I really hope the steering wheel issue is the culprit, this sounds a real probability. Good to check the simple things out first.! Will report back on all you have raised. Thanks both once again. Graham.
  6. Steve and Mark, Thank-you so much for your prompt response to the amplifier issue.Steve the voice navigation compartment in the boot is not the amplifier is it ? If not then the majority of the boots rear lining will have to be removed to access the amp is that the case? The auto electrician was funded to do an initial assessment as I didn’t want major disruption to the interior.I got a second professional opinion and they both came up with the amp being faulty. Both thank you for your help, will start my hunt for the amp tomorrow. Best Wishes Graham.
  7. Good Morning All, In 2020 the previous owner of my Lexus 430 paid 3.4K to upgrade the hi fi system,I bought the car in 2022.Several speakers were replaced, the motorised Ariel, and the header unit replaced to a pioneer combined cd,dab, sat nav, phone, media connection, when working sounded excellent.I asked an auto electrician to have a look at it and he said the amp has packed in. I have checked previous posts and checked the fuse in the n/s footwell and this was working fine.Could anyone tell me where the amp is situated and any recommendations of a specialist repairer or cost effective replacement please? Thanks Graham Wilkinson.(Apologies if you have seen previous versions of this, having some IT issues)
  8. Thanks to Anthony,Bob,Perry Neil and Graham for your help in the reversing sensor issues and water leak in the drivers footwell.I will ensure I add your suggestions to my to do list, I received from EBay the used Denso reversing sensor today, plugged it in and it fired up and worked first time. Thanks once again, its great to have some fine weather and do things outside!!!! Graham
  9. Thank you Antony,Perry and Neil, The red 430 with 4 tail pipes certainly matches the ummphhhh of the engine. Is the supporting body work conversion available????. Have checked the breakers yards with no luck, however I have bought the used sensor control unit from EBay for 13 pounds so worth the gamble.Anthony thanks for the additional information regarding Denso Factory will also check this out, many thanks to you all. Best Wishes G
  10. Hi Perry,Will give them a ring thanks. You can turn the volume down if it is the same Denso unit fitted. On the little black box is a sticker highlighting where the volume control is.Open the box carefully by removing the two plastic clips but first unplug the unit from the wiring loom. This is easy it is the large white rectangular plug and socket. When looking at the printed circuit board with the white socket at twelve o clock the volume control is at 11 o clock, you will need a small screw driver.Hope this helps.G.
  11. Happy New Year to all members. Firstly due to leak at the RHS in my 430/2000 model boot my Toyota Denso parking sensor control unit has died.It apparently was fitted to 4 Toyota cars models but the part is no longer available (part no188100-2260).There is one available on eBay but doesn’t look in good condition.Has any member any contacts where I may obtain a used or new original reversing sensor control unit? Regarding the water leak on both lower sections to the boot (under those bucket like containers) I watched a Utube video how to remove the rear light clusters and then cleaned out the Chanel’s behind so I am now waiting for the usual Lake District weather to arrive to test my efforts! I have also removed the rubber grommets in these lower sections so that any further ingress can freely drain away.Any further helpful suggestions welcome. I thought I had solved water ingress in the drivers footwell but sadly not.I am going to remove the window wipers and plastic drain grill underneath and investigate further.Again any helpful suggestions appreciated. I am slowly but surely getting the car back to where it needs to be and have had a new cam-belt kit fitted including water pump, upper front ns/ball joint, next on the list will be the exhaust system that members recommended using the specialist in Leeds. My wife is fed up with me talking about the Lexus but actually we both love it,it was to be my Sunday car but I want to use it all the time! Thanks for all your supportive and helpful comments at the back end of 2022.
  12. That is great, thanks! Looks like we have a day out of retail therapy in Leda coming up soon!! G.
  13. Russ thanks this very reassuring many thanks!! G.
  14. Good Evening All, Thank you so much for those who have assisted me so far as a new member.Water ingress to the footwell was resolved by flushing out in the drain hole in the lower sill O/S and did the trick. Have yet to use the Honda Shin Etsu grease on all rubber seals, bought 2 tubes and waiting for the Cumbrian weather to improve before I-apply this treatment( to all seals eg doors, boot, roof etc)thanks for this advise. I asked a Lexus dealer to provide an estimate how much it would cost to replace the entire exhaust system.I needed smelling salts to bring me round!! The estimates was 5400k.I asked an independent garage to check the condition and his view was to replace from the cat/ converter to the silencer was necessary at this stage.Has any member had bespoke stainless steel replacements made or indeed similar replacements and if so which company and if you don’t mind me asking the comparative costs.Any experiences on the exhaust front also very welcome. On other matters I am considering to replace the aux/fan belt, cam belt which is somewhat over due,at the same time would you advise replacing the water pump at the same time? (Milage 69k now) My wife and I just love the car it is quite a joy to drive, and yes I did allow her to drive it!! (WELL ONCE) Many Thanks Graham. Ps.Bought a half cover from Classic Additions which cost 105 pounds and is very high quality.
  15. Thanks Richard,Will do the same when we have dry weather up here!!
  16. Further to previous posts on this matter, the misting up issue I-have now found is due to water ingress getting onto the footwell floor and being soaked up by the carpet and mat.I have read posts re ingress on the front passenger side but not the drivers side.I will clean and treat all door gaskets as some of you have kindly advised. If any member has had and rectified this type of water ingress your advise would be much appreciated. On other matters I had the full service on my Lexus almost 2 weeks ago at Lexus in Preston.Found the experience to be very professional and 20% discount was applied. In addition they have a guy who can clean off the hazing on the front headlights, this worked well and cost an additional 60 pounds. Although the car has a 12 month MOT on the to do list is an off side front upper ball joint, cam belt replacement and new exhaust. My priority is to fix the water ingress to the front off side footwell and any help with this would be much appreciated. Many Thanks Graham Wilkinson.
  17. Good Evening All, Thank you so much for your kind and supportive comments. As I have owned the vehicle for 2weeks is all seems going well and I await the sting in the tail. I noticed the car mists up internally when it has been raining heavily. I have found on the boot folding shelf small amounts of water. Perhaps a seal or two has failed, any guidance or pinpointing would be appreciated. Is not major so hopefully easy to rectify. Many Thanks Graham.
  18. Thanks Anthony, Have decided to get it serviced at Lexus Preston. As a club member I got 20% discount so will see how this goes. Thanks,we love it, it is our picnic car.Don’t want to use it until it has had a full comprehensive service. Appreciated Graham.
  19. Anthony, Really helpful will upload some pictures when cleaned and polished it.Desperate to get it serviced. It is a joy to drive, only took delivery last Saturday.Thank you.Graham.
  20. Thank you so much that is so helpful and prompt! Graham.
