  1. Seems like it was creaking the same as it is now due to a slight split in the boot and was lubricated 2 years ago, makes sense to replace I think if a recurring issue
  2. Hopefully doesn't need using more I don't think my bank account can manage that, with 30mpg, done about 7k in 7 months in her and she's about to tick over 215k, as you say if original probably just time to replace. But no mot issues however that was 7 months ago when I first bought it.
  3. Thanks guys, it's pretty damn creaky so feel water may have gotten in and started to rust, for the price more than likely going to replace as its probably going to need doing at some point anyway.
  4. Thanks for your help, there's a 2 week wait on the amayama part, however I do have another car and don't overly need to drive all that often, there's currently no play or anything it just creaks and have lubricated it for the time being as it seems the grease has gotten out from a damaged rubber cover. If the amayama part is definitely just the same thing I think it makes sense to save the 40 quid.
  5. Thanks for the reply Malc, both front lower ball joints, from lexuspartsdirect they are £80 each, there is a non oem replacement from amayama for £20 each but obviously not putting that on. Plus 40 for posting from Japan however still works out cheaper than I was expecting tbh for one of these cars.
  6. Hi guys, wondering if anybody has purchased ball joints off amayama, part number 43330-59045 and 43340-59045 for each side, £40 each. According to the site this is an oem part, I don't want to be getting a cheap part especially for something like this, it seems fairly cheap to me tbh so just curious.
  7. Hi guys, located in North west uk, got a passenger headlight spare for a 98-00 fully functioning and on good condition, give me an offer. Thanks,
  8. Thankyou, part numbers are different and they are slightly differently shaped, it's not to bad, more of a preventive measure if anything it's not really leaking however it has been welded pretty poorly, and has a few tiny tiny holes maybe a couple of mm, just after a cheap second hand one to be honest, I do need a resonator for it too.
  9. Hi, anyone know if the exhaust changes throughout the years? Looking for a y pipe and resonator replacement, found a 96 one for sale that looks like mine which is a 98 year and wondering if anyone knew if there were any difference? Thanks
  10. Hi, I've bought some parts recently and I've got a passenger side headlight that is surplus to what I need if anyone is interested, I'd be happy to post or can collect I'm in the North West of the UK, if anyone needs it then let me know. Thanks
  11. What's the general expected price for one in decent to good condition off of a breaking car, how do the prices of wood ones compare to the normal ones
  12. Hello all, wondering if anyone had any info surrounding the wooden gear knob and wooden steering wheel, I know they're not to everyone's taste. I have a ucf20 face-lift, and would like to retrofit these to my car, I'm assuming this is a fairly simple process with them being only on the latest LS400. I'd also wonder what the price of these as an option were when new if anyone would know at all, just out of interest. Finally wondering on how to obtain these, if they came in different colours, I have a grey interior car, and if anyone has some generic price bases for what I should expect to pay for each. Thankyou for any response
  13. Yeah, would definitely be interested to see how polybushes affect the ride, from strong flex for the rear upper wishbone bushes they only have the harsher ones of 90 sha, which has put me off. I believe oem is 70, so could live with 80 provided there was no other option and the longevity of them is definitely a plus, i think on this occasion when I get round to it I will try the febest ones, if they don't last long even when fitted correctly then I guess it's either a whole new arm at considerable cost or hoping that polybushing just the rear upper wishbone doesn't ruin the car.
  14. Thats great thankyou very much, those look like the oem quality to me, hopefully not the cheap ebay stuff I've seen people say lasts a year at best
  15. No advisories a month ago, all bushes look fine which is why I expected a spray of grease to do the trick, only really affected with the window down and that's only a few months in this country so guess I'll wait until they need doing, stereo system sounds great anyway
  16. Not sure what else you'd like me to elaborate on, I stated it was the rear upper wishbone bushes. I've used some silicon spray, silence for 5 minutes but hasn't lasted, wondering if anyone knows of a lubricant that would last longer or am I just going to have to replace the bushings
  17. Have checked the bushings all round, jacked the car up onto blocks whilst the wheel was on and got someone to bounce the rear right to identify the squeak
  18. Seems like the smart thing to do is try to lubricate them and see if the noise goes, and not fiddle unless I need to
  19. Thank you for your help, I really look forward to keeping this car for as long as possible, I've got a couple small jobs that I am getting along with and want to get my hands dirty attempting some stuff with help from friends who know more than me. I would like to do the best I can to avoid poly bushing, when looking at amayama, there appears to be an entire control arm, and then options of two bushings, the cheapest looking like the cheap ebay stuff, and then the more expensive one appearing to be of oem quality, wondering if you have experience at all with the febest bushings and would last longer than a year. I'm going to try to attach two screenshots
  20. Mileage is on 210k miles and I've owned it a month, driving it feels like it could be 30 or 50 it really is unbelievable
  21. Yeah sorry I should have specified, it's at the rear, only one side on the drivers side, the squeak is constant going over any sort of bumps, if I'm honest I can barely even hear it with the windows up in this car, however windows down it us becoming annoying, the bushing itself isn't completely perished but definitely looks somewhat worn
  22. Hi guys, I've had a squeaky noise and found it to be the bushes on the upper wishbone, would like to know what my options are, I'd rather not use polybushes as I'd like to keep it as wafty as possible, has anyone used amayama for these before?
