  1. I got the Ghost 2 installed from Carkeys in south east london this weekend. I am now more comfortable leaving the car at public car parks without constantly tracking the airtag i have hidden in the car. It took just over 2 hours. i was given a great guidance on how to use it, change codes and do's and donts. 5 stars to them. it costed me £500.

I had bought a milenco lock as a buffer. The installer suggested that i stop using it now as it will invite morons who will cut the steering wheel to remove it and then fail to start the car, so i am looking at more damage to pay for.

The next step is installing a dash cam, front and rear. I have an unused viofo 129 pro. Which ones are popular with the forum.

The dealership informed that they have the nextbase 380 GWX. Any reviews?

  2. I am a first time owner in the UK. I have purchased a new ES recently. I had some trouble with the lexus link app which i am waiting to hear back from from the dealer.

I was wondering in these cases where i get called back into the dealership to get it fixed( a 130 mile round trip), do they reimburse the fuel cost? There is then a second cost of time spent away from work.  What would be your expectations and what is your experience?

Should work with either App, was using the standard one then switched to the plus version a few weeks past. When switching to the plus App it removed the vehicle from the standard one. Would not hurt to remove the vehicle and add again using the chassis number if needed.

I did add the car again using the registration and followed the authorization steps where i had to enter car milege. didnt work. Have dropped an email to dealership.

I think you need to logon to the main Lexus website and activate some options. That's what I did. Not sure if you can do this on the app.

i have done that as well. Didnt work. will reach out to dealer tomorrow. I can see the DCM icon on the screen in car is grayed out. maybe something to do with that.

  5. Its here!

The handover experience was very smooth at Cambridge. the sales was was very helpful throughout with my queries. The car was parked inside the showroom when we arrived and the color looks amazing and suits the car. I went with black interiors.

The only niggle was the car not being updated in the Link+ app. i was told that this gets fixed after i take a first long trip, which it did but the experience could have been better.

I only persisiting issue is i am unable to access andf view the menu in app where i can remotely prepare the car with aircon/heating/sending navigation. i would need your assistance with it. adding screenshots from my app.

Be interested to know Whiskey33 how the hand over went and more importantly where on the premises the hand over took place.

Cambridge Lexus have their Toyota dealer next door and the car park was rammed when I was there collecting a pre owned ES back in July.  Other Lexus dealers I have used have a designated covered hand over area to offset any weather issues on the day so previous collections enabled me to inspect the new car in a dry dry space even if it was lashing outside.   I don't recall seeing any under cover facility for a hand over at Cambridge but maybe there is and pre owned car collection get a second rate hand over like mine.    Was your car in the car park when it was handed over?

Hey Steve, I am yet to collect it. Will add my experience here for all! 🙂

  7. So the Car arrived at Cambridge on 6th but there was a sale event the whole week so couldnt get the car. i have now arranged the pickup for this Saturday!! Very excited for the the first Lexus! Cant wait to see it in flesh as i have never seen the car in this paint on the road.

Just ordered an ES300H Premium in ice ecru with hazel tahara interior. Dealer reckons it might be here before the end of the year with the year end incentives they have at the moment. We will see. My previous and current UXs took 6-8 months.

This could be right based on my experience. I am getting mine in next couple of weeks. I was told 3 months in June when i placed the order. But i never got any updates on my app. i had to contact my dealer in Cambridge to see where we are.

The next thing I would do, if you’re planning to keep it for some years, is take it straight to a good Detailer for a high quality ceramic finish.  Possibly even Paint Protection Film applied to the front to give added protection against stone chips.

I appreciate that it’s very easy to spend someone else’s money, but it’s a small additional cost relative to your initial spend and the benefits accrue over the years.  And the car is never going to be in a better state for a Detailer to work on.

PS.  Ron, I like the look of the Milenco and you’re almost persuading me except, as I’ve mentioned before, would anyone really target a seven year-old car?

I have never had detailing of any kind done before. I have a 2001 ford focus which gets a monthly wash and  vacuum. 😄

Is there something specific to search for to look out for like product name/franchise? I did a quick google search and there were so many results. I am near Peterborough if someone can suggest places in 50 mile radius.

  10. After no updates on the app since the order was placed, i got an email today that the vehicle is now in transit. It was frustrating as the salesperson could not get me the name of the vessel and my order status was never updates till this day.

Attaching screenshot below of the map being shown of its transit in UK.

Can anyone advice when this status is updates, the day the car arrives in port or sometime after that? And this being my first lexus, any pointers on how much time it will take from now and anything to look out for?

also out of curiosity what car are you changing from

I have a 2011 ford focus. I came to uk a couple of years ago and last year, when i was looking for a new car(XC40) on a new licence, i was advised the insurance would be through the roof. (i am paying 1300 a year for the ford!!) So the advise was to get a cheap one for a  1 year ncb before I get something new and expensive. Now as lexus are hot with thieves and could impact the insurance qoutes. i am getting 2k quotes when i am checking now. 😞

Now i am attached to the ford as well as it as 112k on the dash and gave me no issues. *touchwood*

Hi, welcome to the lexus club, i have had luck in the past getting free servicing thrown in with the car from steven eagell. Servicing costs have gone up nowadays. My NX took around 4 months back in 2020, its been a great car. Did you have to negotiate hard to get the discount or was it fairly easy, it was quite easy back in 2020, was able to get the 41k car for 34k ,  2 years free servicing and £400 over auction value for the old car.

I asked them to meet what other dealers were offering on carwow and they offered easily.

Also forgot to add if you are interested, get the Lexus Link app, it should show you the progress of your build, and once its in transit to the UK ask the dealer for the name of the vessel its on so you can track it if you are interested.

i have downloaded that and can see the status on the app. i did not know that i would be able to track the vessel as well. that sound very interesting. i will definitely get that info.

  14. I am happy to share that i have ordered a Premium edition in Sunlight Green with Black interiors. I had a good experience at the Cambridge dealership which helped me seal the deal. I have been given an estimated dated of end of September.

There are some amazing discounts being offered and i got mine for around 33k with with 2k deposit contribution and managed to get alloy insurance added to the entire deal. I have not had a chance to see my colour on road. i took a 800 mile trip to the south and did not manage to see a single ES on the bank weekend!!!

I hope all goes well. fingers crossed! 🤞

Been watching my car move around the dealership today, it is currently unlocked and the doors all open with the keys inside, I think they are doing the cameras.

it was driven for 2 miles to the BP where it had been filled up

very tempting to try out the remote climate, which is new with the upgraded comms on the 23 spec.

    collecting on Saturday morning

looking forward to the pictures. did you get dash cam installed from them?

amazing way to test it out to the fullest. when are you due to get it? I will give the exeter guys a call. any salesperson you can refer?

Used Carwow aswell, Final price at about £33k, wasn't even worth going to my local Lexus dealer to try and compete.

33k is a good deal. let me have a talk with my dealer as well. this is like a 5k cash discount apart from dealer discount plus 2k deposit? if you dont mind, what dealer are you dealing with?
