I'm wondering if someone has any insight into why the remote locking would stop working after a steering column and battery change.
I had the dreaded ignition key cylinder issue where the key doesnt turn and managed to source a replacement part cheaply, from an RX300 model car. They sent the entire steering lock along with the ignition cylinder.
So I replaced it as a whole unit and had to put a new battery in as in the week it had been sitting, it had drained/died. After which, everything returned to normal function - Except the remote locking.
I'm wondering if there is a sensor or electronic device attached to the RX400h steering lock column that has any influence over this, that the RX300 does not? I recall they looked the same but I didn't inspect really closely.
Any help/insight would be appreciated.
