  1. Hi everyone, My bluetooth adapter with the splitter arrived today and it does look like it fits. However, over the last few days I've been taking the door cards off to inspect my speakers because the sound quality has been really bad since I bought the car which wasn't long ago. I've noticed that 90% of the foam is perished from each door speaker and the subwoofer on the rear shelf is a cheapy aftermarket for some reason. Also I remember noticing a few months back, when I had the volume to reasonbly loud, the sound would cut out. I originally thought this would be because of the terrible speakers but now upon inspection, Once they're refoamed, they should be back to new quality. Looking about on the forums and various youtube videos, the amplifier is the main culprit. Instead of chancing it or sourcing another used one that will probably fail in the near future too, I'm now looking at installing my own single din radio which I found a good write up from over the pond (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-3rd-gen-2001-2006/905011-how-to-single-din-head-unit-and-amp-in-ls430-with-factory-nav-ml-no-adapters-needed-3.html) This would also replace my broken cd player. I'd need to source an amplifier that'll probably have to sit in the boot, Although it wouldn't look ideal and spoils the oem look, it would definitely last longer and it also means I'd have the option to connect my phone to it via bluetooth and usb direct. I wouldn't have to spend quite abit on a used Mark Levinson subwoofer either which do go for alot of money! It does look like a right chew on to be honest, but I think its the way to go for me personally and also I should beable to get some help from a friend who is very knowledgable with electronics. Thanks for the help again and I will definitely send some photos and info once its finished! Cheers Barry
  2. Thank you for the very quick reply MaximusPrime, I’ll give that Amazon link an order and I’ll let you know how it goes 🤞 cheers for clearing up the connector confusion too.
  3. Hi everyone, Pardon me for being a bit of an idiot, but I'm a bit confused with the bluetooth options for my 2001 LS430 and was just hoping if you could give me some advice on which bluetooth setup to go for? I'm just after streaming music via my phones bluetooth with the best quality sound and thats it (no handsfree etc) I've been looking at the GROM BT3 but cant work out which type of cable I need. I've attached a couple of photos of my stereo and wiring loom if anyone can workout which one I require (TOY1,TOYF or 5+7 pin?) Also, from what I've read, the grom system uses the cd player to stream the music via bluetooth but the cd player on my car doesn't work. ( when I press the cd button it displays "error"). looking at a few older posts I've seen you can get a "bluemusic" version which is consideraly cheaper than groms. Does that use the cdplayer function and is it worth getting that one instead of groms? Cheers Barry
  4. Thanks for the help everyone and sorry for the late replies. I've literally just got my car backtogether this evening, it's been in bits since October because life got in the way of things 😆. I bought that radiator you linked BigBoomer and it fits spot on, but I had to cut a slot into the airbox cover in order for it to sit flush because the radiator cap sits quite high. I had alot of stuff that I wanted to change/replace while I was in there, new powersteering resovoir, timing belt, water pump, crank seal, thermostat, pipes etc. I've still got a few things to replace such as rocker cover gaskets and spark plugs but overall a good start. Cheers again.
  5. Scratch that. the new radiator I've bought is missing an end piece on the left-hand side to where the coolant tank connects to. I've attached some photos of my current one if anyone knows an aftermarket radiator that'll fit, but I think I'll have to bite the bullet and buy new genuine one for £400.
  6. Thanks for the quick replies everyone. I ended up buying a Denso 2214100 from rockauto because I was getting a Timing belt kit from there as well, hopefully it fits 🤞. I'll do a follow up when I get round to do it.
  7. Hi Everyone, I've just had a look at my radiator because I want to replace it within the next few weeks for preventative maintenance and I've noticed its missing some sort of coolant expansion tank by looking at other LS430's on the web. Is this something to be worried about or is it normal for people to remove them? Also does anybody have any recommendations to which radiator I should buy to replace the original one? Cheers Barry
  8. Cheers for the link on the boot seal Colin. I'll definitely give the local dealer a shout for the tail light seals too 👍
  9. Hi everyone, I’ve recently purchased a 2001 Ls430 and I’ve been looking for a replacement boot lid seal and two tail light seals but I’m having no luck finding new parts. Does anyone know where/how I can buy them or even fix them? Cheers
