  1. @Boomer54 So sorry to hear your story. I was brought up in East Manchester & it was as rough as a robbers dog even then but sadly has got even worse. I really detest going back there to see family & friends because of all the low hanging fruit. To be fair it could have happened anywhere but you handled it very well. Lovely Jaguar XK60, enjoy it & more pictures please.
  2. Quite correct, as a previous owner of a Coupe. Sir Edward Heath was PM when car production ended in 1973 & I've got pictures of Margaret Thatcher still using one in 1979!
  3. I'm using a hard wired Boscam R2 Dash Cam which has a reversing camera (screen in the interior mirror) wired into the reversing lights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0xYEBXgauk
  4. Could the white dust be from the deployed airbags if it's been in an accident?
  5. Yes I believe that's correct, if you enter a fictional character such as Father Christmas, Popeye etc then no issues. You could also discribe a person i.e. 'middle aged man with grey hair, beard wearing shorts etc etc then that would work as well. Also if you're not happy about the first result you can search over again.
  6. I'm currently looking for an interesting 'triple triple' (because I can't afford a 'double double'! I believe that you can contact the DVLA to ask if they would list a particular number provided it's not been previously issued. When they schedule it for auction they notify you via email. I'm currently watching four on eBay & have found that in many cases if you add them to your watch list after a day or two you receive a notification that a discount is available. In my case they were between 6%-25% so well worth doing.
  7. @Boomer54 they are strict about no offensive material so try putting 'cat' into the search bar instead of 'pussy', lol.
  8. Some great pictures above, I came across it on another motoring Forum, not sure if I can name it here? Make the most of while it's free, once us freeloaders have given it all the R&D it needs then it'll be on subscription only to Commercial organisations.
  9. Over the last week I've been having a play with https://www.bing.com/images/create from Microsoft's Bing AI Image Generator. Enter anything (weird & wonderful) into the search bar & see what comes back. It struggles a bit with human fingers, text etc but if I was a Graphic Designer then I'd be looking for another job! Here's one I did with a Christmas theme:
  10. @ColinBarberDidn't expect that Toyota would offer a factory tour, now that would be interesting. I've always fancied doing the Morgan factory tour with a Morgan rental car the next day to explore the local area. @Linas.PRR list one up to £191,860 without the Bespoke customisation! The world's gone mad.
  11. I didn't say it was coming here........ yet. The American MSRP for the GX 550 is $62,900 for Premium, $67,900 for Premium +, $75,900 for Luxury, $79,900 for Luxury +, $67,900 for Overland, and $75,900 for Overland+. So with the current exchange rates that's £49,508 to £62,999. Seems to be excellent value when compared with the current Range Rover & Mercedes G Wagon. Maybe other forum members will be interested with the manufacturing process?
  12. One of the YouTube channels that I subscribe to is Hagerty & they have posted a video with Larry Chen at the assembly line. I've put it here in General Discussions as it's such a new model so Mods please move it if required to the correct section. Fascinating insight into the Japanese efficiency & the different assembly stations with the 'Just in time' & 'Kaizen' methods. It did surprise me that the GX550 is a body on frame design i.e. separate chassis with the separate body attached. Enjoy: https://youtu.be/ikKByP6H_58?feature=shared
  13. Epic thread resurrection here from me & I'll be interested in any replies to the following. As the CANBUS front nearside wheel arch vulnerability is well known, if you disable the keyless go function on the car would this prevent thefts like this? On Range Rovers if you press the headlight button on the fob three times & then the unlock button it disables keyless go, maybe other sequences on other cars.
  14. My old 1997 Fiat X1/9 had the same latches in the n/s door jamb but without the symbols. Also designed by Gruppo Bertone as well!
  15. Hi @Mr Vlad, apologies for the late reply, only just seen your post. I had to sell my previous 'forever' car (VW Golf GTi Edition 30) due to health reasons & needed a comfy, wafty, barge sort of cruiser. Did quite a lot of research online & test drove a couple of other cars & decided the 300h would be the best option for me. Not a huge fan of the spindle grille & small door bins/glove box but those are a small criticism when viewed overall. I had a 2005 Lexus is200 quite a few years ago & it was faultless..... but boring! No regrets so far, only done just over 400 miles in the last five weeks.
  16. Hi Clive & welcome, I'm also a new 300h owner. Hope that you're enjoying it as much as I am, had mine about a month & done @300 miles in it.
  17. Having read the above made me think I should have searched out a nice RC350 AWD instead. The link for the 2012 GS from @Linas.P looks like excellent value & I've bookmarked the site for future browsing. Even when you factor in the cost of underseal, code the radio/sat nav, rear fog light etc if has good history then it makes sense to me. IF you don't get clobbered for duties & import tax!
  18. Probably because they can plug it in to see what it's been up to & where its been? If it leads to a sale & track days/curcuit days are covered by the warranty then no problem. @Linas.P you're so correct about Tyres, it amazes me the number of drivers that don't give them a second thought. Just out of curiosity, where abouts do you live?
  19. @ColinBarber What would be interesting is one of the first generation is300 (3.0ltr) Sport Cross (estates) with a supercharger. @Rabbers Really interesting read, thanks for posting it. Really surprised at the Dealer agreeing to 20 laps of the test curcuit!
  20. Just remembered that whilst I did my Internet research before I bought my RC 300h I found that America had a RC 300 AWD (all wheel drive) that wasn't available in the UK. Just to confirm I looked on eBay USA & in this listing under 'Item description' it clearly states Full-Time all wheel. 2022 Lexus RC F 300 on eBay USA: https://www.ebay.com/itm/276079581827 Anyone else come across this & do any other Countries especially JDM cars have models different from us in the UK?
  21. @Rabbers @NemesisUK I'll have to wait a while to try the cooling seats, temperatures have dropped here in Lancashire over the last couple of days! Yes @Linas.P that was my thinking, I expected one click to be minimum rather than the maximum. Fewer lights=less heat, more lights=more heat.
  22. I'll double check those heated seat buttons next time I'm in the car, not tried the cooling seats but will be interesting to see if they are the same. So much to like about the car, such a really good comfortable cruiser, wish the door pockets were a bit larger though.
  23. Another new owner here that's very impressed with the spec of the RC 300h. @Rabbers & @poprock They use microswitches for the window drop/rise. Previously I had a BMW E46 330Ci Coupe which had the same arrangement, from memory it was only activated when you touched the door handle after unlocking it with the keyfob. One thing that I find strange on my 300h is the front heated seat buttons have three lights lit up as the lower setting & a single light for the maximum. Thought it would have been the other way around? Had a 2005 IS200 about 12 years ago (until my girlfriends roof landed on it during a storm) and if this car is as reliable as that one I'll be very happy.
  24. Hi, thanks for the warm welcome, no doubt I'll soon be asking dumb questions!
  25. Just wanted to say "Hi" as a new member, bought a 2016 Lexus RC 300h F Sport a couple of weeks ago, the picture is from the seller. I've been lurking on here for a while before I purchased it & the members comments helped me make the decision to buy one which I don't regret. Really pleased with it, I've come from a 2007 VW Golf GTi Edition 30 so it's a bit of a change, lol. Getting used to all the 'modern' tech that the Lexus has & also the quirks that it has. It's my first Hybrid & I'm pleased with the whole system overall (56.8mpg), like others I would like a bit more power but I look upon it as a comfy Cruiser rather than an out & out performance car. Anyway, "Hello" to other Forum Members & get ready for another thousand of questions from me!
