  1. The next en final ICEPOD/FM modulator story. I got the new fm modulator and had it installed by my local car electronics dealer. When they called me that my car was ready, the said "I don't think you will be blown away by the sound quality...". Unfortunately the sound quality was bogus. Worse than a regular FM station, distorted and flat sound. Icepod.nl couldn't give me another solution than take everything back and give me a refund. So to all Lexus drivers out there: Go for the best solution or nothing! Top of my list still stay's the vaistech solution, but I wait until I buy a new lexus. I still got to digest the financial hangover from the Icepod adventure. Total of 210 € installation costs. (Half a vaistech solution, incl installation).
  2. My ICEPOD installation didn't end succesfully. My dealer installed everything like mentioned in the very simple manual and we could hear for 3 min. a very bad soundquality from the ipod and the nothing. Dead. The FM modulator gave it up. I called ICEPOD.nl for info and they asked me to send it to them. I got a confirmation that they will replace the modulator. I moved heaven and earth to get my Ipod connector before I left skiing and in the end I had to leave without. Frustratend to see a nice cradle that doesn't work. To be continued....
  3. In Belgium also but that law implies the FM transmitters like iTrip. Not the FM-modulators.
  4. As usual the Ipod 2 Car solution isn't compatible with Lexus.
  5. ThankS! That sounds promising..it's not cheap but if it works than I'm a client. Would this installation break any warranties? ← Anyone get a reply from the VAIS people? ← I've got contact with them but they communicate very slow. I have to wait 48 hrs. before they reply my mails. (I'm aware there is a time difference) I wanted an adapter before 22/12 but that seems to be impossible. And pretty expensive +/- 400$ to. So I'm going for a dutch company that is distributor of ICE-LINK. They sell a package with CRADLE to hook up to an AUX port. I talked to my lexus dealer and they said it is possible to make a y-splitter on the CD-port. The mayor drawbacks are: - no control of the ipod on the factory unit - you have to use a blank burned cd in the changer during ipod use. But better than nothing and a lot cheaper. ← If and when you think ya can get any of this working will you pretty please give me some links to the products you are using im dying to get my iPOD photo in my rx..thanks ← I've scheduled the installation of the cradle for Wednesday. I will post some pictures of it. In the mean time you can have a look at http://www.icepod.nl/, the site is in dutch but you can get translated online. BTW, I left the aux splitter for what it is and went for the hardwired fm modulator. My dealer wasn't sure that he could fix a good y-splitter, so no risks. The people of IcePod insured me that the soundquality isn't cd quality but practicly the same. So if I listen to the radio all day and I find that quality ok then will a hardwired fm modulator sound pretty good.

  7. I've an iTrip and it sucks. In my RX I can nearly catch a frequency due to the fact that the antenna is located in the back (I think). In my little Opel Corsa is it bearable but since the FM band in Belgium is crowded as a subway in Tokyo it's not usable if you drive further than 10 km. I only use it to play my Ipod music on my stereo where the Ipod is on top of the stereo. So my advice is: don't buy it! Go for the real stuff.
  8. At last! Some light at the end of the tunnel. I gave myself up as a tester but I doubt they will select a tester who lives in Belgium. The only thing I find curious is the fact that none of their products are released yet!! The price is another thing but if it works I'm willing to spend the money.
  9. I guess I have to give up my quest for a nice integrated system for my car. I think I'm gona go for the cassette adapter and a cigarette lighter charger. On the dension site I've found a nice Ipod mount that can be attached to he dash without drilling or screwing. Densions RX Ipod mount Thanx for the post anyway.
  10. I've been in contact with the people of dension but there is something fishy about the sound system in my Lexus. It would use a proprietary code(???) to command de cd-changer what results in an incompatibility with a lot of solutions like IceLink. I've put my cards on Icruze from Monster now (not released yet). I've mailed several times to them to check compatibility but they don't answer me (not a good sign). If this doesn't work out I will go for the FM decoder solution. Icruze monster
  11. I'm searching the internet for quiet a few houres now without finding a answer to my question: Is it possible to connect one of the ipod connectors to the RX300 soundsystem? I'v have a '01 RX300 with in-dash cd-changer and touchscreen navigation system. Everything but this type is compatible with Ice Link, Neo Ion, PIE or PAC adapters. Only the people of Ice Link answered my mail and said they were working on a solution for my car. But when?? They couldn't tell me why this solution won't work on a RX. So, is there anyone who has tried one of these adapters? If I invest in an adapter it has to go hte whole way. track control with the radio controls. Let me know!
