Battery is good. Starts only if bump started and told it's shorting out somewhere

Hi I've a problem with my Lexus is 220d as I've ignition on dashboard but when I press the start button all I'm getting is a click and nothing else. I'm not a mechanic myself and can't work out the problem. Any help on what it might be or how I can resolve this issue would be appreciated guys. Many thanks Michael.
