  1. Wish this was available sooner, but it might help set expectations about charging and range https://www.lexus.co.uk/new-cars/rz?Category=ALL-NEW RZ, SUV,ELECTRIC&ac=C8924&mc=E05&URN=455721&utm_campaign=C8924&utm_source=CRM&utm_medium=email&utm_content=E05#charging-calculator
  2. So, it turns out that the fix for the charging port lid is a new lid with 3 lines that show where you need to push and not a modified mechanism, i'd already worked that out so decided to keep it as is as I would have to wait for the replacement to be painted and IMHO it would probably not look as good with those lines on it.
  3. Strange that we see a different effect, I will have to double check but I'm pretty sure the fan speed didn't have any effect on range.
  4. The software update was completed and the range has increased as expected, the day before at 100% I had a range of 165 in eco mode, and I now get 200. The fan doesn't change the range at different speeds once it's on and I don't see any difference based on the climate control temperature, so I think the heat pump must always be running and divert heat as required. Need to see how the charging curve has changed when I get an opportunity to use a public charger.
  5. I'm not sure when my car was manufactured as it was in stock with Lexus in the UK when I ordered it, but it didn't have the update so I'm guessing it had been in country for a couple of months or so
  6. It seems that the fan regardless of whether its heating or cooling or just blowing air at the ambient temperature shows a massive drop in range, TBH i can live with the range if charging was quicker, stopping for 20 minutes is ok but when it takes 40 minutes to push 20 - 30 KWh in to the battery it quickly become a pain to travel any distance, so I'm hoping that the charging curve is improved with the update as that will make the biggest difference for me.
  7. Will update when i get the update. Nice to get some feedback on alternatives, I must confess that brand loyalty and the levels of customer service I have always got were my main considerations, so I didn't really look at the competition. Feeling a bit better for reading your thoughts and my only real issue is with the battery and charging on those longer journeys
  8. The information I got did come from a sales guy after I took delivery, so I don't know how accurate the statement was, if it affected other models that seems less likely.
  9. I was surprised as I only got my car at the end of November, but I was told that the reason they weren't fitted was that when they redesigned the wheel hub nobody realised that the standard locking bolts wouldn't fit so they had to be redesigned, once that was done I imagine it wouldn't take long to produce them so maybe your dealership just needs to check again. i had the same experience with the charging cover and mentioned it to the service manager and just said I thought it wasn't up to the usual build quality that I expected the reply I got was
  10. I believe that is the Swindon dealership, I was looking for a boot liner they were cheaper and I could save even more if I picked it up from them (not to far from me) , when I order it I'll confirm if I'm correct.
  11. Mine is going in a week Friday, it was booked a while ago as the charging port lid part weren't available until the 10th so that was the first convenient day for me
  12. If anyone has an issue with the catch on the charging port lid being temperamental it is apparently a known issue and there is a replacement part to fix the issue, mine is due to get this fitted next week along with my spare key, the software update and locking wheel nuts.
  13. That's very similar to what I see with an average of 2.2 miles / kw at the moment, The last charge shows 160 but a month ago was around 152, more data means better predictions and warmer weather helps as well.
  14. 210 is better than I have seen yet but the range is now increasing a little bit after each full charge so I guess the additional data from trips is starting to affect the range predictions as well as it being a little warmer now. The long-awaited software update has arrived at my dealership today so worth following up to see when you can get it installed
  15. Update: I was told by my dealership that the software update will address the range issue and the charging rate issue, they have just received the updates so they will be in a position to install that when my car goes in to get its spare key programmed - fingers crossed that it does sort out this issue Also, off topic but, they will have the locking wheel bolts as well
  16. I got a business policy from Admiral in November for £535 for my RZ, would have stuck with Direct line but they wouldn't insure it as a company car
  17. Does anyone know what the battery chemistry is, I know that the newer generation of Tesla batteries (LFP) have slightly less capacity but can repeatedly go from 0 - 100 - 0 without degrading the battery like the previous ones (LiPo), I wondered if the LFP is on the RZ\BZ because I was not told to only charge to 80% for normal use like you would be on older EVs
  18. That's a shame i was hoping to get that at the same time that it goes in to the dealers
  19. I have always had such great customer service from Lexus which is one of the key reasons that I stuck with them for this car, I'll be interested to see what happens when it goes in for a check and investigation in to the dropping range and slow charging. Charger technology might be significant as well, seeing as the Tesla supercharger was much faster than the others which were BP Pulse chargers
  20. My total efficiency is currently at 2.2 miles/KWh and that has gone up from 2.0 since I got the car, so I would expect the range to have gone up rather than down. Surprisingly, the heating doesn't seem to impact the range greatly but turning the fan on and off makes a significant difference. The range is disappointing but coupled with the very poor charging rates makes for a very dissatisfying experience! I've only just done 1200 miles in total.
  21. Has anyone on here seen the range on a full charge keep dropping, I picked mine up at the end of November and on a full charge with the fan on the range was only 182 a month later and I was greeted with a range of 152 after a full charge, the ambient temperature is similar to when I collected it. Also, had very poor charging rates using 150Kwh chargers on Christmas day, at about 55% and after 68 miles started at 30 KWh and dropped off from there, 20.7 KWh took 39 minutes, a second charge was after 25 miles from cold and the battery was about 30%, started at 70 KWh and seemed to drop off quite quickly to around 30 KWh at 80%, 29.78 KWh in 35.5 minutes, last charge was on a Tesla 250 KWh charger about 100 miles on from the previous charge, started at 107 KWh but again seemed to drop of quite quickly but did manage to push 37 KWh in a little over half an hour (wish there were more public superchargers available) The car is booked in for a check, but I was wondering if this is similar to other RZ owners experiences? Love everything else about the car but this is a major let down!
