  1. Hello David. It's difficult to know what you should be looking for as each individual's wants and needs are different. However, I'd suggest that, as it's a coupe, you might check that it provides enough accommodation in the rear for your needs. Also, I recommend that you savour the quietly smooth drive the car offers, and then have a bit of a play in Sports Plus mode. Have a good time and please let us know what you think.
  2. I charge mine in the garage so I don't need to close the bonnet completely. However, as Colin says, I'm sure there'll be a suitable gap somewhere. All the best.
  3. Hello Maz, I've successfully trickle charged my RC300H using the terminals in the engine compartment as per page 331 of the online manual (referring to jump starting). Good luck..
  4. Hello Jordan. Just wondering if you made a decision on this at all...?
  5. Sorry, you're right, I've just checked the tyres - 19's it is. I was going by the Lexus Approved description of the Equipment..... and we all know how reliable those lists are... Not! No matter, 19 is fine by me.
  6. If it's any help at all, I recently moved from a UX Premium Plus to an RC300H FSport Takumi with 20 inch wheels and I'm perfectly happy with the ride of the RC. I don't find it to be too harsh or jiggly and because it doesn't have run-flat tyres (unlike the UX), I think there's less road noise. However, the RC Luxury might provide you with an even better ride and enough features to satisfy your needs and wishes. I haven't driven one but I'd be confident that the RC driving experience will be very good in any model variant.
  7. I'm pleased to report that I'm still very pleased with my car having driven about 600 miles since purchase now. However, for some reason my Lexus Link app has not recorded any trip details since last Wednesday. Is there any way to reboot the app without removing the vehicle and re-adding it please? Thanks.
  8. 😮 The shame of it! 😄 I'd love to have a drive of an RC-F though. The manager who sorted out my Service Plan did say I might be able to have one as a courtesy car if I took my car there to be serviced but I suspect that was just Car-dealer speak!
  9. Now, if you'd gone along with his opinion Marcus, you might have got away with a much cheaper Service Plan 😉.
  10. And thanks Ronnie. It's good to know that the app will probably improve - eventually.
  11. Update on the Service Plan - I've just had a conversation with a Manager at the Lexus Centre involved and it turns out that my Plan has been calculated on the basis of my car being an RC-F! I suspected this but it's good to have it confirmed, and a new quote will be forthcoming. They declined my offer to accept an RC-F to balance the books 😉
  12. Hi Steve. My quoted cost for 3 fulls, 2 intermediates and 5 MOT's is £3414. I calculated this to be £800 more than at current prices, which is quite an uplift for inflation!
  13. Hi Phil. I've emailed Customer Relations today so let's see what they say....
  14. Thanks Phil. The strange thing about the quote is that my car's Plan shows it as being in the "Executive and Performance" rather than the "Mid Size" category, which is understandably more expensive. I did go into my local centre to discuss this (as I bought the car from another centre) but they could not explain this phenomenon and also said that they (having a different parent company) couldn't offer a 5 year Plan as such. I think that the salesman who dealt with my car purchase has acted in good faith and has just given me 'what the computer says'. I shall contact Lexus directly as you suggest because, as you say, it does appear that they're hedging against inflation and the Plan has nil appeal.
  15. Thank you for your comments Linas and Phil. I can confirm that I am lucky enough to have working Android Auto on my car and it was one of the reasons that I chose this particular car. As for the Service Plan, I was disappointed that the salesman's assurances that "the prices would be fixed" were mistaken in this case...🙄
  16. I collected my RC300H a week ago and I'm very pleased with my experience so far. I've driven about 300 miles on all types of road and I've used all modes, including a bit of S+ on some twisties and Eco on the M40 etc. My average MPG has been around 38 which isn't bad in this cold weather and given that most of my driving is extra urban. I'm still trying to figure out some of the multimedia stuff but I have found all that I need. The ML sound system is good but I haven't used the Lexus satnav as I prefer Google Maps on Android Auto. The outstanding impression is one of comfort and serenity - it's a smoooth car to drive and is no slouch (but not a rocket ship) Just a couple of niggles. I'm not getting mpg or range info on the Lexus Link app - maybe that's not available with the RC because it's last decade? And the 5 year Lexus/Emac Service Plan I was quoted didn't maintain current service pricing at all and would only be cheaper than pay-as-you-go if service pricing increases by more than 10% per annum!
  17. Update time. I viewed the car today and found that, if I introduce the crate in it's flatpack state into the back, I can "erect" it in situ and it fits (just). This involves some contortion on my part but it should only be once or twice a year so that's fine. So, given that I also established that the Android Auto facility in the 20 plate FR Sport Takumi works, I'll be a proper member of the RC community in a couple of weeks. Exciting times! 🎉😉
  18. Thanks Malc but the crate that I have is nearly new and is the smallest that my dog could be comfortable in. I'll just have to see if I can wrangle it into the space available. As for negotiation, I'm sure that it'll be the same old story of my p/ex being one that "people aren't buying at the moment" and the RC being "an excellent example of a rare and highly desirable model"......😖
  19. That's harsh Rabbers. You've got him howling again! 😁
  20. Oh dear, I was hoping that the front passenger seat would slide and tilt forwards so as not to be much of an obstacle. Never mind, as you say, a practical test will be the only way to be sure one way or t'other. Thanks very much for your input.
  21. Sadly, you could well be right Boomer but the crate that I have is fairly small and is designed for a hatchback so has a sloping "roof" - so, maybe.... I'm not giving up yet and will obviously have to take a tape measure when I go to look at an RC next week.
  22. Thanks very much for your reply Boomer but I'm afraid that he really doesn't like to travel by car and I'd be afraid that he might strangle himself in his attempts to break free 🤔. He howls all the way as it is but I can cope with that 😄.
  23. Hello everyone, and Happy New Year. I'm seriously attracted to a RC 300H F Sport but I have a dog (Staffie) and occasionally need to transport him to the vets. I need to use a dog crate for this, and I'm not sure that I could squeeze this into the rear compartment, with the seats folded down. So, has anybody managed to carry a dog crate please, and/or could someone point me towards a link to the dimensions in the rear of the vehicle please - boot opening into cabin, measurement from top surface of folded seats to roof lining etc...? Thank you from a wannabe RC driver.
