I can't see how it's WhatsApp because the calls are regular phone calls, not via WhatsApp...
Can't answer that one, as almost all calls I now get are What's App calls. So not sure about regular calls, will check next time I am on a trip.

Thanks, AJW1.
Another issue which may or may not be linked and I'm interested if anyone has the same problem: when someone calls me and I answer, there is a delay in them hearing me. I am told that they can hear that the call has been answered but they can't hear me for about 5-10 seconds (as I say hello and it's usually on the third 'hello' that they hear me). Anyone else have that?
Yes, I experience the same issue. Has been happening for a while now, thought it was a What's APP issue as I see this when not using CarPlay also.

I do wonder if the mic on the phone is on at the same time are the cars internal mics, the small delay in Bluetooth fools the phone into thinking its getting a command and not recognising that its is itself talking. It may be just down to Bluetooth delays between carplay and the phone. I wonder if it does this with just a USB cable connection with Bluetooth turned off?.

I am not keen on these as the lcd is not that good of a resolution on the demo and loan car I had. I thought that it looked like an after thought lacking sharpness in image quality. Nice lines on the outside of the car though with being smaller than mirrors, but on the inside needs a to be better integrated.

My ES has started to report trips again, I did a factory reset on the Multimedia Unit which seamed to fix the missing trips. Still get the prompts to accept terms now and again but not every time.

Ian, excellent ideas, but getting into that fuze box is a pain. The battery seems easier. Surely some easy isolation of both could be fitted?
It's not too bad getting to the fuses, Battery is easier being in the boot. The problem with Battery disconnection is loss of alarm. As Colin says a visual deterrent is also needed, hence why I use a steering lock. I will just slow them down hopefully.
What ever you do damage is likely if they want the car, we have seen them cutting off locks. In the 80's you would take off the steering wheel or gear stick, but these days with airbags it's a bit risky.

Why not just disconnect the Battery?. Or pull fues for ignition or fuel pump.

Found out by accident today, if you don't connect your phone via Bluetooth then the location and journey information is displayed as before. Looks like they did not fully test release with how drivers use their infotainment systems, sloppy work.
Not sure if it works with USB connection, I need to find a cable and try.

If you do it then the car location is not shown in the App, nor is the journey history. Needs fixing asap @lexus

Yes I got the Lexus installed dash camera, I did not think much of the installation or quality of images. It is quite an old model that they fit, There are another posts with recommendations.

It's the ICON for the Message, which there are none. Use the selector on the steering wheel to change away from that screen. (move it left < or right >)

I ordered the Lexus Nextbase for my ES at initial purchase, As a dealer fitted option the quality of install was poor. The rear camera is too bulky for the rear blind to clear, this results in having to fit offset (mine still clips the edge of the blind after having dealer reposition.) I also find downloading via WIFI very slow and the connection quickly timing out and dropping. I had the same camera in my last car and was disappointed to see none of the issues were fixed by Nextbase.
The time when I wanted the footage after a deer jumped out in front of the car and grazed the rear 1/4 panel the camera caught nothing despite heavy breaking.
I think manufactures should provide cameras integrated as Tesla does, so come on Lexus get your finger out and integrate what now is considered essential.

Front bumper/wheelarch/headlamp damage? Just a guess…
Yes, put the plug back in the headlight myself not sure if securing clips broken as it did not click in. Holding off on wing and bumper repair as it will happen again. For a 6 month old Takumi not to look its best is a shame, but don't want to keep shelling out on repairs if this trend continues.
While Lexus are poor in sorting this security issue, its the lack the law enforcement having a deterrent to curtail this type of crime is the real scandal. I have worked for companies that have trackers in their vans and equipment, but when stollen police don't want to get involved despite being given an active location of attached tracker. Needless to say the vans were never recovered after the trackers were disabled in the proceeding day.

I agree Lexus/Toyota need to act and fast. I recently had a attemped theft of my 2023 Lexus ES (will be footing the bill for damage out of my own pocket). I have no idea if the 2023 ES has encrypted can-bus or not, and the thief does not know either. This will result in owners of all cars having insurance premiums needless be increased. Being a new owner of a Lexus branded car I am disapointed in how this is being handled, but then I don't think Lexus is that good at customer care based on my initial purchase experience after delivery. I chose this brand as I thought they had a good reputation, oh how wrong I have been.
All companies experience problems of some kind, the true test is how they sort to these problems. History shows that companies that fail their customers don't last long.
Maybe their slogan can be "Buy a Lexus , the worst financial decision of your life"

Had an attempted theft of my 23 plate ES300 this morning at 6:15 in east London. It was a can-bus attempt through left headlamp.
Looks like the cable got stuck stopping them getting access. When I was reattaching the cable I thought that using tie wraps to restrict the cable movement might prevent access to the port if the cable could not stretch to the wheel well. Its looks easy to try, remove the pollen filter then secure cable to bracket for wiring loom.
It won't stop them trying but may prevent loss of car.

I did enquire about this and was told that it was not needed on the ES300 as cay theft was not a issue (I have since found out that they just take the whole car), but can you trust a salesperson?
