  1. Has anyone tried 225/50/17 on Lexus IS300h previously? I note that the guidance says 45 is recommended, so not sure how extra 11mm will impact the ride. On 18 inch currently and want to go back to 17 inch to have more comfortable ride. Found pretty much brand new alloys but they are coming off from 2008 GS300.
  2. Done it via one of the local businesses, so not sure which decoder exactly they used
  3. I wonder why it is plug&play in some cases and in other cases decoder or new headunit is needed. Anyone can clarify?
  4. Installed one recently and music played via AUX is terrible as compared to usual Bluetooth. Did anyone experience the same issue? Any idea if it is possible to play music via Bluetooth while being connected via Android Auto at the same time?
  5. Indeed. And probably for even better effect, it is worth to put some anti rattle tape on top of it.
  6. I just took out circled one (there is another one on the other side) and pushed in the new ones. The one on the pic is worn out. I presume the new ones will be worn out in few years too.
  7. Update: So I bought those 2 rubber parts from Lexus Dealership (5 quid in total) and replaced them myself. It is waaay better now and the gap/rattle is almost gone. For perfection, one can add a bit of soft padding (the one on mine is worn out) on top of those rubber parts.
  8. Can you please elaborate more? I am also worried that duplicate key by local locksmith may mess up electronics.
  9. Thanks for the suggestion! Never thought about it.
  10. Any ideas whether getting duplicate key from Lexus dealer or 3rd party locksmith (who claims to have the same equipment as dealer) would make any difference? Price difference is almost 2 times.
  11. Any ideas how to fix loose armrest on IS300h 2015? Rattle from the armrest rest when light pressure is applied.
  12. Any idea if rear differential oil can be changed at any local garage? Is there any specific procedure? For example, gearbox oil change I'd only do at dealership due to complexity of it. But rear diff oil change looks something quite simple.
  13. Thanks. What was the mileage when you changed it? I have currently 70k km which is around 45k miles, so at least another 45k miles until it needs to change.
  14. Thanks, I think I realised now that 40k miles gearbox oil replacement is actually related to business use. Any idea what are the consequences of changing rear differential oil this late in my case?
  15. Thanks a lot for such a detailed response. That's much appreciated. Seems like brake fluid and rear differential oil are must. Any idea on prices for them? Also, in which type of issues this late change in rear differential oil may result? I also saw in various topics on this forum that ecvt oil is lifelong, but the manual says it should be replaced at 40,000 miles (unless I am looking at wrong page here). Any idea if I can find about it not being needed to be replaced? Also if replacement is needed, is there filter too? Had Honda with CVT previously and would have replaced gearbox oil and filter there each 20k miles, so 40k miles in case of Lexus was such a relief (and seems like it is not needed at all?!).
  16. Bought 2016 IS300h recently with 70,000 km on it in Ireland. Car got first service in Lexus UK, then subsequent 2 services in Toyota dealership(second one at 46,000km in 2020) and the last one was local mechanic (??? km). I booked it now for 75,000km / 5 Years service which is a minor service and will include change of engine oil & filter and cabin filter. Should I also change the below? - gearbox oil & filter (have no clue whether it was changed at all, afaik at 64,000km (40,000 miles) it should have been replaced) - rear differential oil (have no clue whether it was changed at all, it should have been replaced at 60,000km / 4 Years service - brake fluid (last time it was changed was at 46,000km in 2020) Any view on the above? Do I need to change anything else? Car drives perfect, so not sure if need anything of the above especially considering dealership prices.
