  1. I have a 2002 GS430 and would love to get an ipod module installed. Can anyone recommend me a place where I could get it installed? thank you
  2. I am enjoying my "new" car, GS 430. It is very quick and the good thing is the power it has when you want to overtake on the motorway. It is also very silent and have to be sure that the engine has started when you turn the key. I have satnav( touch screen) on it and Lexus says it is going to cost me 150 pounds to update the nav to 2009 map. Can I get this map anywhere else or I have to go with Lexus? is there also a "live map" where you can subscribe to get live updates for traffic and congestion with the Lexus satnav? Does the gs430 2001 has a belt or a chain? I am also planning to get the bluetooth kit and the ipod kit installed and can anyone give me any advice on where to get it please? thank you.
  3. I found that rear wheel driven cars are better in the snow than the front wheel driven ones. We get a lot of snow in Canada and what is important is the proper tires. The 4x4 does not help much if the tires are no good. A good set of winter tires and then you put a bit of ballast in the boot and there you go. All you have to do is point your front end and the car will push it in the direction you want to go.
  4. I just bought a GS 430(2001) with the nav. I love it. Its fantastic to drive and the only concern I have is about the engine revs being above 2000 when at 70mph. Is this the normal rev for the 430s?
  5. I live in Canada and we get a lot of snow too and we do not use chains at all. It is much better to get proper winter tires and if it is allowed in New Mexico to use studded tires.
  6. I am having the same dilema now. I had a LS 400 1994 a few years back and had to sell it as I went abroad for my new job. I am back now and planning to buy a Lexus. Because of my current situation my wife would also have to drive my car usually and she feels a LS400 is too big and would prefer a GS300. The GS 300 I test drove(used car) was not very smooth. The LS 400 was the best car I ever had and that includes a BMW 730. I would appreciate if you could let me know what your decision was? Was it the LS400 or the GS300 and the technical reason if there was any? Thank you.
  7. Thanks. I drove the car but found that the drive was rougher than my current BMW 5 series. This was the first time I drove a GS300. Previously I had a LS400 1994 which probably was one of the best cars I ever drove(better than the BMW 7 series).Whats the drive of a GS300 like? Is it supposes to be smooth or a bit hard? I also read a post here that Toyota recommends to buy a newer car with more mileage than an older car with less mileage. Any comments on this would also be much appreciated.
  8. I am looking to buy a GS 300(1994)(L reg) that has done about 130,000 miles. Whats your opinion on a GS 300 that has done such a mileage and what should I be looking for any problems if there normally is any?
