  1. Hi all. First post! I've been asked by my Brother in law to help replace some LEDS on the motherboard of the instrument cluster on his RX300, 2004 model, as I am fairly good with normal soldering. I could do with a bit of advice though! Firstly, does anyone know which type of SMD LED's this cluster uses? I'm going to try and get one off and hunt for it, bit if someone already knows the exact type that would be great. Secondly, I really could do with testing the LED'S on the board without having to put it all back together and into the car. There is a set of 4 solder pads on the bottom right of the board (I'll attach an image) which shows what I can assume to be test pads? They are labelled VIN (which should be voltage IN) and the VOUT (which I assume is voltage out) and then TEST1 and TEST2. Does anyone know the correct way to use these? I do have a bench power supply so I can give them anything from 1volt to 24volts if need be.. although I'm expecting the voltage to be 12v, dropping to about 3v for the LED's. I'm hoping I'm not the first person to try and repair one of these, so any help would be fantastic. Thankyou in advance. 🙂
