New member here.
I'm in a bind with my '98 LS400 and hoping someone can help. (ramble incoming, I apologise in advance)
Owned the car just less than a year, time comes for an MOT.
It's just been to Lexus Bham for a big (and very spenny) service, so I took it back to them to do the MOT.
The car's failed the MOT because it can't aim its headlights.
Why? Because the rear height sensor (89407-50050) is missing…????
(dealer agrees they shouldn't have missed this so said they'll fit it FoC if I can find it)
Lexus doesn't make the part anymore, so the dealership can't order it from the OEM.
LexuspartsUK only realised they didn't have it in stock when I tried to buy it from them.
I contacted every LS400 breaker on UK ebay and they've all ignored me – even japparts, which looked like the most official operation, said over the phone they basically couldn't help me.
There's a US seller, but it could take a month or more for the part to get here – a really long time for the to sit dead on my drive (I'm gonna have to sell the car soon as we have a kid on the way…yikes).
Does anyone in the great LOC hivemind have any bright ideas or know anyone *competent* in the UK that I can buy the part from? (heck, I'll even go unscrew it myself if I have to)
I love this car and I hate to see it sat there immobile 😕
