hi i have a 96 LS400. i had car serviced by lexus in bristol & the discovered a broken EGR pipe. Rather than pay £600 labour i had local garage fit it for less than half that. but i felt afterwards the engine was a little rough (hardly perciptbile but just noticable). also when using fast a roads or dual carriageways i think the engine coughed a couple of times. all around 2000 rpm, gave a feeling like going over a rough patch of road for a second. the car seems to perform fine & cruises at motorway speeds fine & mpg is at 30. anyhow i took car back to garage that did the work & they put on the bosch engine management system to test. they think 2 of the lambda sensors are gone (1 front & 1 rear). (there are 4 on car). i would have thought if a sensor had gone the engine management light would have come on. ? if the sensors have gone is there anywhere cheaper than the £153 & £115 for sensors than lexus ? (front / rear) ? i was planning on changing plugs and leads this weekend as i dont think this has ever been done on car. any thoughts please on the sensor problem ?? thanks Robin...

I had to go to harlow (well would have done if m25 wasnt closed at the m1) i called them at 9 am when i was on route, got to a41 junction on m25 & due to problems gave up going to harlow but since i already had said i would go as they had ordered them in i went around bottom half of m25 instead saved a bucket load of money then buying from lexus so it only cost me time. group hug time

hi Dave, from previous posting you managed to get a cheap set of leads from your local accesory shop, have been trying mine but they have quoted £160 +vat. do you have the name / number of where you got them from please ? thanks Robin....

Makes sense I suppose, just need to wash it first so I can take some half decent pics. :) I can't find anyone advertising anything similar anywhere so not sure on price. 1999 'T' reg, Lexus LS400, full Lexus service history, sat nav etc. 2000 ones are going for £11495 while 1998 for £9995 so I guess advertise at £10,750 ono? Thoughts anyone? And do the decent thing and let it go for less than whatever I finally decide to advertise it at, if the buyer is a Gold Member. :winky: ← i would have thought thats £2K too much, sorry

as a 95 will full history sold for £3500 privatly only last weekend & i have just seen several 95 / 96 from dealers for £5000 a week ago. again with full history i would be surprised if you managed £3000 excellent car but as all car depreciate like lead ballons dont expect too much. i personally have lost £10k in 2 years on a mercedes which hold the value more than any other car. not bitter but just be warned.

hi my ls400 has faulty alarm system (this is the scorpion t5000 as installed by dealers on supply of car). the manufactures have gone bust like my alarm. i need to remove & replace. where can i get wiring diagram from so i know whats what ? thanks Robin..

mine came with a standard one (with lexus) part number t5000 made by scorpion but they have now cone bust.

hi i have to gain access behind the carpet in the passanger footwell next to the transmission tunnel (the upreight bit) so i can get to the mobile phone control box. how is the carpet removed in this area ? it seems to stiff to compres down from behind the plastic/wood trim on the top of the gear change area. any thoughts please. many thanks

hi I have just aquired a 1996 LS400, drives realy well. Unfortunetly it did not come with the alarm remote controls. I have contacted lexus & they say the scoprpion t5000 alarm system is no longer available as scorpion have gone bust. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how i can get remote controls or a replacement alarm system. I have tried a couple of breakers but no joy. I do have a number for scorpion but no answer on there phone. thanks Robin...
