A 50 mile town/motorway drive achieved 41 mpg by driving at 60 ish on the m'way on cruise

Hi, Just taken delivery of RX300 and have had a tow hitch fitted - first time out with the trailer I switched on the rear fogs and bang , car stops. Turns out that one of the fuses in the engine compartment (labelled TR01) has blown. Trailer relay fuse has also blown I think. Is this expected for (prob faulty wiring ) on tow hitch ... why should a 25A engine related fuse blow ? Any ideas ? thx
