  1. Hi all...just rang L up at a few locations.

They don't sell the bottles of the recommended Toyota ATF Type T4 anymore as they buy in bulk of 25 Ltrs. Have any of you noticed this. I need to change my oil soon and am stuck as I hear non Toyota oil and clog up the transmission. But I can't buy a few litres of the recommended stuff (as one could only a year back). Bummer.

    Any tips?

  2. Chris....it is the last IS 200 before they stopped them so not sure if that is Mk1...the 02/3 looked slightly different in the interior anyway. It is not Limited Edition...it is the SE...the LE came in a bluey metallic colour I think. Yes, it is fully loaded with sat nav, electrics. 5 sounds about right to me...just checking some of the online guides adjusted for my low mileage!

    Thanks

  3. I am looking to sell my IS200 SE to a family member and trying to get a fair price.

05 Plate Granite Sky IS 200 SE Auto 28,000 Miles Satnav 17inch wheels FSH for the first 3 years and serviced myself after. Good condition all round. I believe the very low mileage should bump up the price a little compared to the many high mileage cars on sale in the market. What would be a fair price according to your experience and knowledge please? I have been told Gbp4K but I see plenty of 03/04 plates with 60K+ miles going for that amount. Surely mine is more...

    Thanks

  4. Hi....have any of you had a similar problem....I park in the same place but last 2-3 days I have noted that the key remote does not function, nor do the spares. If I park is somewhere else it is ok, however. I asked Lexus and they said drive the car for 50 yards and then get out Lock, Unlock, Lock and Unlock the car. That seemed to work in reseting something.

Any ideas why this could be the case? The batteries seem fine...Lexus guy told me to make sure no metal is in the central console, which I have done.

    Thanks

  5. Guys, thanks for all your help on this....plan to open this up now that I have time!

Well, I had the pod in my car as I was giving it to someone as a gift (fan of ice creams). Anyway, that person told me to just place the pod itself with my hand in front of the vent and turn the fan on....so as to get a nice wiff. I did so but out of some tragedy I tried to balance the stick on the vent. A daft act indeed and it went in!!!

So that's story folks...I will let you know how it looks when I get it out (if I do!)

    Thanks again folks...

  6. Why not use a vacuum cleaner? You could use a plastic bag and some tape to make a seal over the vent pipe, and then tape the bag around the vacuum tube. Might work???

Interesting....for sure...any of you guys know where that air shaft actually goes....does it end up with a link to the air blowers by the legs at the bottom...maybe I can get it out from there...

  7. Hello there, the centre console with vents is easy removed - only two screws!, click the link below which will instruct you how to remove that centre panel :)

    Click

Thanks a lot...seems quite ok...off hand do you know if thre is enough space to put something down the air shaft to weed this pod out. I guess it has gone deep inside...

  8. Hi all..hope you can help. I rather stupidly managed to drop a vanilla pod into the right air vent on the centre console, which has ended up in the tubing inside. The car had a smell of vanilla whenever i turned the fans on but now its starting to get a little foul. Does anybody know how to get into the venting to get this pod out...is it easy to open the centre console up to get into this area? Any other ideas how I remove this thing!

  9. Hi....had 2 years free service on the IS200SE which I bought new and got the third one in March. Mileage is very low at 10,500K. Last year I was told that the alloys would be changed because of corrosion - 4 of them not the spare wheel, which is brand new. Is this normal or would they usually do the whole lot?

Also, anyone know roughly what the cost would be for the 3rd service...this is the first service I will actually be paying for. The mileage last year was around 6500 and now its just 10.5K....so I shouldn't be expecting a shocker I hope.

    Any tips apprectiated B)
