is there a way of retensioning the front seat belts springs. ? 96 model year ls400. they do not recoil any more (or just a little). thanks

the only similar thing i ever had was on a citreon that had height control of the suspension. the link to the sensor had come off. sounds like a sensing problem, did you try adjusting the height switch at all ?

Thanks Wheels ,plenty of members must have trouble obtaining these bushes, there certainly a much cheaper option than buying complete arms or parts from the dealers, I`m lucky I can fit them myself. This does seem a good club ,with a very good exchange of info so I thought I`d do my bit :D :D :D ← how much did the bushes work out inc postage ?

what is the dealer planning to do with the gearbox, for that amount of money sounds like just a swap out. ? why are they suggesting to do that, they should have the equipment to diagnose what the fault is. first check the gear oil level (guesss you have) might be worth having the gear oil changed (with toyota oil) first & the filter cleaned. is the current oil clear ? if it has gone brown something is breaking down in the box. if changing oil does not clear it would suggest you go to a gearbox specialist that can check the valve operation inside the box, could be just a sticking valve. swap out of box is not cheap & would almost be better to get new car at that money.
