  1. The windows are an easy fix. If you disconnect the battery, loose power, or even disconnect the window switches, when you put the power back on (new battery for example)you need to let each individual window right down and then right back up from each windows individual swith. Then you will have them all working normal again from the drivers door controls. Keith
  2. Thaks for those that took time to comment. All parts come via Ebay USA. Here is the grill, Ebay USA: ISF Style Grill For IS250 Or how about changing the comlete front and rear bumpers: ISF Style Front & Rear Bumpers And here are the Black Pearl emblems........not cheap! Black Pearl Emblems Note the front and rear "L" emblems are a slight different size, as I wanted the grill solid to take the carbon inserts, and in the process of making it solid reduces the diameter, the emblem on the grill is actually a rear emblem. Hence when I ordered my set of emblems I had to make sure I had the correct sizes that I needed. Keith
  3. I have been looking around to change the grill on my IS250 SE-L but couldn't find anything that I wanted. Alot of the American sites that sell updated grills are ....well......awful, all tend to have far too much chrome going on. Those on Ebay I just kept coming across were knock offs either plain or carbon which looked okay, but after I contacted a guy in the US who had bought one and then forwarded me some pics, decided it was not for me. I like the grill on the IS-F and Ahmed's grill thread where he managed to make a grill fit from an IS-F was just what I was looking for, and so started to look around for an original IS-F grill. That's when came across this grill on Ebay US, specifically made for the IS250 manufactured by Konzept Automobiltechnik and taken from the IS-F style......Perfect! The quality is quite good and actually better than I expected, the only thing was that I wanted to use Carbon inserts and so the front section had to be made solid or the insets would not fit into the "L" emblem, hence my work so far below. This is the IS-F style grill for the IS250 the quality is pretty good, obviously copied from the IS-F original and molded into the IS250 fitting. With the removeable "L" piece, I would say because of the way it has been molded the "L" piece is seperate. If you were using this with the OEM standard "L" emblem you would need to glue this piece in place, but it is a good fitting. 3mm plasic sheet from Ebay to make the centre piece. Shaped centre piece, filed and sanded with wet and dry, quite easy to do. Glued in place with two part epoxy resin, ready for filler. Filler started, more to do then more sanding etc. In primer after a few rounds of filling & sanding. Ready for Satin Black and "L" emblem. Carbon inserts. After a few coats of Satin Black. So I bought the Black Pearl emblems and have to say they really are nice, here is the finished grill with the carbon inserts, just need to fit it now and then change the rear emblems to match. Black Pearl Fitted: Keith
  4. What was the outcome on this ?? Please post an update. Keith
  5. Okay I've sorted the HID problem. I bought some Garax HIDs 600K which with shipping came to £67, so £2 more than the other bulbs I had. Took out the OEM 430K bulbs and put in the Garax.......same problem, the bulbs light up and worked but "check VSC" and safety mode plus traction control warning light. So I put the OEM back in and now THEY give the warning? I figured it had to be the fitting and not the bulbs as the OEM had worked before the swop. So I started again, double checking the way the bulbs fitted and exactly how the caps fitted onto the OEM bulbs, this time they worked properly again, with no fault showing. I swopped just the N/S to a Garax and tried again so I had 1 OEM and 1 Garax (not lighting the bulbs but just turning on the ignition) and hey presto NO fault, so I had narrowed it down to the O/S bulb. I swopped that for a Garax too and the fault reoccured, but at least I knew where it was going wrong. On closer inspection it appears that the O/S bulb fitting has a copper type connection that must press against the cap when the cap is fitted to the bulb, and I looks like I didn't have the cap fitted 100% correctly, although it felt right and the bulbs still light up? Anyway the N/S bulb fitting did not appear to have the same copper type connection (bit like the type of copper fitting inside a torch switch if you've ever taken a torch apart lol). They work great and look the mutz nutz, well worth the extended work to sort them out. Keith
  6. Thanks Ahmed, I just checked the Garax HIDs and with shipping from the US they work jut about the same as these ones I bought. So I'll back these to the seller and try the Garax brand. Thanks for your advice. Keith
  7. After having the 600K HIDs fitted to my old IS200 I kind of missed the bright white light that they gave off compared to the standard OEM 430K fitted to the IS250. So I looked around and went for a pair of 600K from a company on Ebay called Xenonplanet.com who have a place over here in Hemel Hampstead and also the US. They were £65 so not the cheapest by a long shot. See here: So I fitted then today, removed the air box to get to the N/S headlamp and the washer pipe to gain access to the O/S headlamp. Fitted them and they worked great, nice and bright and was well happy. Put the car back together, fitted my new number plates, scrubbed up and was going to go for a drive to test. I got back into the car, started her up and immediately got a fault message "Check VSC", engine safety light came on and she went into safe mode. Well the only thing I had changed was the bulbs and I needed the car for work tomorrow morning, so I got the tools out again and swopped back over to the OEM bulbs and crossed my fingers. Fortunately that cured the fault and she drove okay. Now I didn't have time to refit the new 600K bulbs and see if I'd done something stupid as I didn't want to risk not having the car working tomorrow, but I definately will try again next week. I've contacted the seller who says he has not had this happen before and that he will check out the error message so he's being quite helpful. Has anyone else come across anything like this? Any ideas? Keith
  8. Just a quick update. If you have this noise problem when using the Aux 3.5mm input and charging port at the same time (when using and powering an iPhone/iPod for example) and you have not had the Lexus update carried out under warrenty, then this is the answer. Set it up today and it completely quashed any other interference making the Aux input a pleasure to use now. This is the part that just fits inline from your device (iPhone/iPod etc)to the 3.5 socket in the armrest: Bought via Ebay from a US seller. Keith
  9. Well I must have struggled for an hour trying to release the bottom of the bezel with no luck......didn't want to snap anything. The top is easy, 1 bolt and a couple of plastic studs, but getting the bottom free has totally done me. Does anyone know how the Grill and Bezel are removed for the IS250, what am I not doing correctly, it can't be too difficult? Any help much appreciated. Keith
  10. Thanks Giorgio, sounds like this might be the problem reading the other forum. Trouble is I can't try with it disconnected as it's not battery powered (like the iPhone) so I'll buy the noise supressor that they recommend and give it a go (see below). Thanks for your help and advice, much appreciated. I'll report back when I have the part. Keith PS UPDATE.........I just tried my Iphone on battery power with the Aux port and clear as as a bell, then connect up the power supply via the power port and hey presto horrible noise!!! Ordered the noise supressor.
  11. Yes I'm using the power port next to the Aux port to power the unit............any idea what the fix is? Keith
  12. I've just done this mod using the above Blackberry Gateway and it works great.......So many thanks Ahmed. However I get interferance when its connected, just an awful noise from the speakers? I tried connecting my iPhone before direct via the 3.5 Aux with a cable and it made this noise, I thought by using this method it might cure it. Any ideas anyone? Keith
  13. Or this 3.5 angled adaptor to save bending the cable...........couple of quid on Ebay. Keith
  14. What age is your IS200? Did this sort your problem? Keith
  15. Looking very good.......I'm liking the Satin Black grill and the Black "L" emblem, very nice!! Keith
