Mk1 Gs300 Manual Conversion?

Hello all

My mother Is looking to sell her 1.8 Renault Laguna in favor of something a bit quicker and really likes the GS300, but she isn’t too keen on the automatic gearbox.

I’ve scene quite a few manual conversions done on Aristos using the gearbox from a MK4 TT Supra, so I was wondering if something similar could be done relatively cheaply using the W58 transmission used in NA MK3 and MK4 Supras.

Would much modification need to done to make the W58 work in the GS300 in terms of Custom fabrication, or could I get most of the parts I need off a Supra? Considering MK3 NA’s sell for £200 - £300 on eBay, getting the car itself shouldn’t too expensive, I not looking to break the bank with this project.

Any Suggestions or Advice?

Has anyone here done anything similar?

Thanks for the help

Josh
